My mom has read 'A Pocket for Corduroy' to me a many of times when I was little. Now, I am a teenager, and this is still one fo my favorite books. When I get bored, I pull out my copy of the book and read it. Ok, yes this may not say much for me, but let me resassure you that I have an outstanding social life and am actaully quite popular. Also, I am smart. I say all this has to do with my reading of this book. Infact, I am buying this to give to my boyfriend for Valentine's day, and I have even nicknamed my boyfriend 'Corduroy.' Hope you decide to buy this book for yourself or a child/teen/adult that you know. And ENJOY!

I remember my mom reading this book to me as a child. I LOVED this book. I now read it to my 2 boys (2yrs & 6mos) and I hope they come to love it as much as I do. Reading it to them brings back such happy memories of my childhood, this is truly a book for any age!

Sweet and Fun Sequel   One day, Corduroy, a stuffed bear, goes with Lisa, his owner, and her mother to do laundry at the laundromat.  As Lisa’s mom reminds her to empty her pockets, Corduroy decides he needs a pocket on his overalls and sets out on a search to find one.  What might he find along the way?  Will he wander completely away from Lisa?   This is a sweet and fun book that I think I might like better than the original.  The reason for this is the creativity of what Corduroy runs across in the laundromat and what he thinks it might be.  We, of course, know better, but his guesses make perfect sense from his experiences.  The pictures are wonderful and expertly capture the story.   If you are a fan of this stuffed bear’s first adventure, don’t hesitate to get this one.  And if you’ve missed Corduroy, by all means meet him soon.

A favorite at a few months old, and at 4 yrs old, still a favorite for my daughter. We bought the nook version to save her hard copy from wear and tear and glad we did. Nook version with read to me and read and record features are equally well done as the original print versions.

I recently read this book to one of my cousins and she loved it. The whole time she was engaged and her sister came in the room to listen to the story. She wanted to read a book and out of all the books I had, I chose this one. One reason is because this book was read to me when I was younger. I remember loosing my bear at that time and my mom read me this book. I would read it in hope that my bear would come back. This book also inspires one to dream and use your imagination.

This book is really a classic. A delightful story for young children, narrated very much from their perspective, and always adored.

I was lucky and could read very well at a young age. I remember checking this book out from my kindergarten teacher. It is the only book I really remember loving as a child and now I am buying it for the baby I am about to have. I hope he will love it as much as I do.
