5 star I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, stalker, and heartbreak. This is Jennifer and Jack’s story. After losing her husband and then seeing her daughter off to college Jennifer moves to a new town. She is a reporter and is investigating a serial killer in the town on her own time. She knows if she can just crack the case she will get the job she wants at the paper. Jack is attracted but knows he needs to stay away. When she has an intruder in her house he decides he needs to keep her close. The closer she is the more he can be with her and break down her walls. When she attracts the attention of the killer Jack is determined to protect her even if it’s from herself. Can he protect her but also date her at the same time? When the killer comes right for her can Jack protect her or will he lose her to the killer? I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book.

Loved the HOT HOT HOT sexy alpha Sheriff Jack!  Loved the storyline!  My only complaint, I had to read this in the Alphas In Love anthology because the novel is still not available for Nook, which is the only reason I still haven't been able to read Reason To Kill yet.  So much goodness - I hope she can get someone to format it (for Nook) for her soon!  Looking forward to reading a lot more from this author!

The sexiness that is woven throughout this story is amazing and keeps you turning the pages, craving more. This introduction novel by CP Lewis shows exactly how amazing of an author she is truly going to be.  The Reason series is set up nicely and lays out other stories that can surely come, that leaves the reader wanting more. After being widowed and her daughter going to college, Jenn decides to live out her dreams and moves to Colorado to pursue reporting.  When two women are found murdered, the mundane task Jenn has been assigned with fashion, falls to the wayside as she aims to find the killer! Upon trying to fulfill this mission, Jenn finds the county sheriff, Jack Gunnison, and immediately is in lust.  Parts and feelings that she had thought dead for years, are quickly reawakened with this sexy as hell, bossy, and dominating man.  These feelings don’t stop Jenn from trying to find the killer, but ends up with them having some fun along the way! This rivoting and suspenseful storyline will have you gasping (in more ways than one!) as the twists and turns unfold.  Within the mystery, the romance that blooms between Jenn and Jack is one for the books.  The chemistry is undeniable and the emotions made me swoon!!  Great first book!!    Review by Rosalie Belle with Guilty Pleasures Reviews

Ok so first of all we at Sizzling Pages absolutely love when we stumble upon a book from a new author and it completely sucks us in and knocks us on our asses. This book did all of that and more. Now for my thoughts: I love a bossy alpha, I love a man whore who finds the woman that can tame him but not change his bossy ways. AS if you could! I also absolutely love a heroine that doesn't take his crap. On top of all of these loves I also adore romantic suspense probably more than any other type of romance genre. I got my absolute alpha romantic suspense on steroids fill from this amazing story. Jack..wow you are something else. Bossy, arrogant, sexy and just really really protective. He sold me when he first said " I don't share" ..my number one favorite thing a man can say in my books. They drove each other crazy and this romance was a roller coaster type love. It happens in a very short period time and so much is thrown at these two that I kinda felt like I was watching the movie Speed with some hot scenes. So back to how Jen drove Jack to the brink of madness so many times and there were so many laugh out loud moments that I just really felt like I was sucked into an amazing love story. and didn't want it to end. Jen knew she couldn't fight it but she stood her ground on all her sassy adventures..but the whole time she was just caving inside Oh yeah, I was caught in his web; I was a fly to his spider, and If I wasn’t careful he was going to devour me. We love our sizzling scenes and I was not disappointed in the least. Jack took charge and his bossy was over the top in the bedroom. He shoved one hand in my hair and jerked my head to the side, so the angle for the kiss got deeper. His other hand slid down my back and grabbed my ass, squeezing once, and then pulling me into his hips. Loved how Jen brought this big alpha too his knees. He never ever even tried to fight it. I think he knew from the first moment that this woman was his match in all ways. The big sexy bossy types are the ones I love to watch fall..and they never do it gracefully but..oh what a sight. So glad we found this author and this book and I can't wait for more ..like really I'm seriously..give me a book she writes and I dive in!! 100% Perfect Alpha Award Approved

I never thought the day would come when I enjoyed a suspenseful book, but that day has arrived thanks to a delusional serial killer, loveable news reporter, sexy sheriff, some amazeball friends, and a great author. BTW….This unlikely pairing of murder and romance was a great way for me to enjoy my first who dun it book. Not only was I enjoying the romance between Sherriff Jack and News Reporter Jenn, I was also caught up in trying to figure out the identity of the serial killer plaguing the quaint county of Gunnison and their reason for killing all of those girls.   Jennifer Stewart:  I fell in love with her just like every other man in that town and wanted to be her friend too just like some of the women there. She was friendly, tenacious, head strong, and loveable.  I instantly empathized with her once I found out why she moved to Gunnison and was rooting for her to find happiness and that passionate love affair all women desire (clearly something she lacked prior to her move).  Personality Quirk I Loved (but sometimes it frustrated the hell out of me): Her need to do things her way. She almost always did the exact opposite of what her boo thang, Jack, wanted her to do even though he was ALWAYS right.  Personality Trait That Made Her Awesome: The fact that she didn’t fight her feelings for Jack although they were intense and happened rather quickly. It gets annoying sometimes when the girl in the book fights her feelings and wrestles with them back and forth for a few chapters.  So I was glad that she just went for it.  Jack Gunnison: Ever so often I find a book boyfriend that captures my heart, and I’m pleased to admit that Jack has made that list. He was everything you would want in a mate:  strong, protective, loving, passionate, slightly jealous (i.e. possessive), and someone who knew how to make your toes curl. I couldn’t even write about Sheriff Jack without blushing. (Guess I have a serious crush on him! LOL!)P.S. I loved how quickly he gave Jennifer a pet name and how accepting he was of her daughter, Bailey. Personality Quirk I Loved: How territorial he was over Jenn. Don’t look at her. Don’t try anything funny with her unless you want to experience the wrath of the Sherriff.  Favorite Saying of His: I should tan your hide. (YES!) Anywho, I loved this book. It was well written and a quick read. So quick, that I finished it in one day. I loved all of the twists and turns and the budding romance between Jenn and Jack. I gave this book 5 bookworm stars.

Look forward to more.. Love that it was a complete book without any cliffhangers... Similar to Ms. Ashley, but only in the sense of the Alpha male... Her heroine was a bit more independent and (I hate to say this) maybe a bit more realistic.  For a first book, I'm impressed and definitely look forward to more...

Loved this first book by this author. Hot guy with shades of bossiness and a heroine who is feisty and challenges him. Like others say there are hints of KA writing style so if she works for you then I definetly think you will enjoy. This is a fully develped book with no cliff hangers and a nice epilogue to give us a brief glimpse into Jack and Jenn's HEA.
