This book has inspired me to estabish a family tradition in my home that includes not only wonderful Sunday dinners prepared from this cookbook, but also to share this book with my closest friends. I am the mother of seven and this book has been a tool for teaching, learning, and establishing memories for generations to come. It will be one of the things my children will fight over when I'm gone. I find myself looking forward with anticipation to see which menu I will choose next. The recipes are fabulous.
Mr. Chronkhite has written a stunning book with fabulous recipes. The book touches on so many reasons why we gather and have meals together. Why we share great food and great friends and family. The photo's are really inspiring and the food so delicous looking my mouth watered as I read the recipes and nearly ate the food off the page. I chose this book for my Christmas gift for close friends, family and co-workers. Return to Sunday Dinner is an invite to renew old familiar foods as well as create anew some traditions to pass on to the next generation.
The arrival of 'Return to Sunday Dinner' met my eyes with wonder and amazement. From cover to cover, the words spill out with family memories around the table and the meals that remained in one's heart if not stomach for years to come. The photography and well chosen menus are superb. I intend to purchase additional books for my daughter-in-law and daughter who are only now beginning their 'Return to Sunday Dinner' memories. God Bless to the author. Great job.
I have a large library of cookbooks. 'A Return to Sunday Dinner' goes to the top of the list. It is designed in a menu format (which I love) and I have already made four of the meals for family and friends. Everyone took great delight in the main course, side dishes and dessert. Most importantly, this cookbook is the inspiration for us as a family to established Sunday as our time together around a meal and memories.
