As a series starter, Rumor of Bones was pretty good. Interesting plotlines and character development combined with Conner's masterful storytelling style to keep the reader engaged throughout. While the story wasn't quite as long as most other novels of this type, I appreciate that Conner didn't try to drag out the story just to fill up a quota of pages. That would have detracted from reader enjoyment and created frustration. I look forward to reading more in this series. Stephanie Clanahan

This is a great first book of the series. I read the first page and hated getting interrupted from then on. Anyone who likes archeology, forensics, and a good story, should read this. I loved the main characters, jumped from one suspect to another, and purchased the rest of the series. I hate books with foul language and this one only had a couple of words. I hope the rest of the series is as good. There is sexual tension but no sex scenes, which was refreshing. Get this book and dig in!

This book is amazing! It keeps you in your seat until the very end. From page one you guess where she is going and who did it. Through out the book you can picture the sites, the people, and what Lindsey Chamberlin is thinking. I recommend this book and the following books in the series. If you like Patrica Cornwell, you will diffently like Beverly Conner.
