About the Author

Joyce Armintrout was born in a farmhouse near Peculiar, Mo. She grew up in that same house and has definite country roots. By the fifth grade, she was writing short articles about things in her daily life. During her eight grade she became interested in Western action stories because she found out her father had been a real cowboy in his younger days. She made up tales about things that might have happened to him while he lived on the ranch in Wyoming.

Shortly after entering high school, she discover the romance novel, so her subject matter changed again. She turned to the teenage romances going on around her. Anytime there was a breakup, the couple involved were apt to be the subject of her next story. While she was employed at AT&T, she was often called upon to create crossword puzzles and other word games in conjunction with their safety programs. She also wrote short skits to be performed in front of the monthly safety meetings. She never outgrew her love for the romance novel. Her characters became more mature, with different problems. Her retirement gave her more time to pursue her writings. She divided her time with her short stories, memory pieces about her life growing up on the farm without electricity or running water, and her family history. Mostly her writing has been for her own enjoyment. This is her first attempt to become a published author.
