Soon her life and his found that rock and hard place where decisions were impossible and devastating. Briah is sent into witness protection and Aiden to the bottom of a whisky bottle.

Briah felt safe in the mountains. They were her refuge from life's realities. She could lose her cares on the slopes with the wind blowing them past her. Will the mountains hide her from the two men that want her? Can the snow help her to forget Aiden? Is there a future in her new life?

About the Author

Debbie has always been an avid reader, but writing was not her interest. That was until an illness gave her the time and inspiration needed to begin her journey in words. After writing down a few chapters of a story that had whispered into her head, she gave it to a few friends to read. The rest became her first book, The Kiss Me Chronicles.
Debbie freely credits her stories to her muses, the characters themselves. They occupy her thoughts and dreams, presenting her with their narratives on their lives and loves. On occasion, she has tried to put her own take on their story, only to be quickly corrected by the true authors.
Debbie has traveled extensively and has a deep love of American history. Her novels are often based on historical events as well as places she has visited. She is also an amateur genealogist, having traced her own family roots.
Debbie currently has nine published books with many more in various stages of production, including a tetralogy of 'what or where is your safe place.' She is also branching out of the romance/historical romance genre to include a teenage appropriate story based on Dorothy's(The Wizard of Oz) great-granddaughter, Dee, and her adventurous shoes.

A Snow covered Nightmare by Debbie Zello a five-star read that certainly isn’t a nightmare read. This is the second book in the Refuge series, this is a series but they can be read as a stand-alone I have read both books and plan to read the rest as Debbie Zello is a great writer that will captivate you. This story is fast-paced and full of action it will keep you hooked all through the story. Aiden and Briah have such a powerful story to tell, it builds and builds a great tension and the storytelling is next to none, you will watch as they grow to love each other and face so much together. If you don’t read any of the other books in the series try this one, it will stay with you long after you have finished the story.

A Snow Covered Nightmare: Refuge Series Book Two (The Refuge #2) by Debbie Zello was a slow burn murder mystery that leads you into a false since of security. Right out of the gate this book tosses you into the fire. It spared no details getting your anxiety up, and your heart pounding. That was a cold open like no other and it dug in it's reading claws. Form there one wards we are rushed into a bloody race agents time as the clues lead up to something more then deadly. Before I get into characters and what loved about this book, I have to tell you that for me, after the heart ripping opening, and when the initial investigation got under way, it slowed down, like about 30% in, it got slow. The trial part is what I'm talking about. Because after that, as the story moved towards the end, it picked right back up again, and I was flipping pages like no other. But that 30% - about 55%-ish, didn't quite do it for me. I don't know if it was because the author had thought up a great beginning and ending, and was trying to bridge the gap, or the author was trying to slow it on purpose, to make for a bigger more impacting climax, to out do the opening. Either way, I think another go at it would help polish out this outstanding murder mystery. I'm not saying the writing was bad, it wasn't, it just didn't match the rest of the book. Outside of that I loved everything else about this wonder. The MC Briah, she was a spit fire and I loved how she wasn't the damsel in destress (you know what I'm talking about). She proved herself capable more then once, and she out shined the alpha male MC by miles. Sure Aiden was okay, I did like him, but it was like I've read about hime before. I didn't get anything new, the only thing I can say that differs him from others like him, was that he wasn't the pushy MC. He was sweet and respect Briah and didn't treat her like a damsel, or like a piece of property. There was realism in that, that made me respect him. As a couple, they fit, and I believe and felt their attraction. Overall, this was a treat to read and though this is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone. So no worried if you haven't read that first book. But in saying that, I have, and I will say that you got to get you hands on it! Debbie Zello has a way with words and murder mysteries. This book, like the others of have read, is a testament of that. So please take my super high recommendation that you need this books, and Debbie Zello books in your life. Happy Reading -E.A. Walsh

A Snow Covered Nightmare- Debbie Zello 5-star review A Snow Covered Nightmare by Debbie Zello is a phenomenal read! This is the second book in the Refuge series and can definitely be read as a standalone. However, the first book See You in September was amazing and is definitely worth a read! Debbie is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors as her stories always manage to captivate me from the start. Her characters are so relatable and easy to connect with and her attention to detail makes the story flow seamlessly. This is a book I read in one sitting as I was so caught up in the storyline that I just couldn’t bring myself to put it down. I love how there always seemed to be something going on which kept me engaged the whole way through. This story is suspenseful, action-packed, intriguing, surprising, dramatic and romantic. It’s full of twist and turns that had me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next and I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. I can’t wait to read what Debbie has in store for the rest of this series! I would absolutely recommend this book and series to anyone looking for their next read!

A Snow Covered Nightmare: Refuge Series Book Two by Debbie Zello 5 Stars My second book by this author and I think I loved this one even more than the first. This author has a different style and flow to her books and I absolutely love it! She doesn't mess around with what I call fluff, or filler words, words that I would normally skip over more often than not. This storyline was unlike any I've read and the quick flow of it while not losing any important content was fantastic. Briah was a great character, even after what she had been through in her past, plus witnessing the murder of her boss and becoming a witness putting herself in grave danger she never lost her spunk. I loved her strength, and her courage. Many times during the book I thought to myself, nope, there's no way I could do what she did. I'd be curled up in a corner scared out of my mind. I will say though that witness protection never sounded so good and Ill take it, without the danger of course. Aiden broke my heart, I fell in love with him immediately, and the choices he was forced to make that about broke him, about broke me while reading as well. There is not much more I want to put into this review because I could go on and on and don't want to give anything away. Just know that you have to read this book, it is a standalone and I promise when you're done reading you too will want to move to Stowe, Vermont! Thank you for another wonderful ride Debbie Zello, I loved loved loved it!!
