Reid, an Episcopal priest and Benedictine monk, took a sabbatical after 28 years as superior of St. Gregory's Abbey in Michigan, traveling all over the United States by motor home. Wonderfully open, Reid remains rooted in his own commitment and vocation; along the way, he visited a maximum security prison. In this work, he shares the amusing, the sublime, and the problematic, revealing the Spirit at work in the profane and the sacred, studying kinds of human community and conflict resolution, and engaging in contemplation. Seekers of many traditions, especially those of a contemplative bent, will enjoy and profit from this journal. Highly recommended for seminary and public libraries.
