The book title caught my attention and once I started reading it, I was hooked, I couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with each character, I loved that there was a Hispanic family interacting in the story. Since me and my family are very spiritual as well as creative, (music, dance, art, etc.) I could relate with the story's spiritual struggles, the everyday life's questions and decision making and just trying to put you creativity out there. Waiting for Book No. 2

Nicole Mullis has written a truly fantastic novel in which she is able to humanize the characters thoughtfully exposing their strengths as well as delicately exposing their vulnerabilities. The characters are portrayed as complicated yet typical human beings who are sinners yet display redeeming qualities in their thoughts and in their actions present throughout their trials. God is the cornerstone to this novel and the Catholic faith is demonstrated in its truest sense not as an easy nor as a trivial way of living life, but as difficult and ever challenging. The pivotal character’s namesake, Faith, is a metaphor for the quest to learn about God and the basic need to have faith in order to learn and to grow in one’s spirituality. Faith, hope and love are the actual “teachers” in this novel yet they are so well represented in these characters that they become seamlessly woven throughout the story-telling. People of any faith will find these characters engaging. The reader even has the opportunity to learn a thing or two about their life along this literature journey of faith, hope and love.

A Teacher Named Faith was everything I thought it would be from the moment I turned the first page. Thoughtful, touching, and filled with heart. Nicole L.D Mullis did not disappoint with her debut novel. I cried, laughed, and fell in love with her characters. It’s one of those books you breeze through and are sad to see end. I highly recommend this read for anyone searching for a novel to fill you up and make you happy to be alive.
