Scarier and more suspenseful than the best psychological thriller you may know! When I started reading this book and read through the first half, I thought it was just a series of horrendous murders happening that seemed to have me thinking about where it was going. But as I continued on, it began to develop and I understood much more about the protagonist – John Corbin. This is a monster of a book! Well written and superbly told by the author David Boiani. Although the book is quite short; at least I found it to be, it was packed with lots of scenes and lots of information! Very fast paced! And it didn’t need to be any longer. David brought a lot of tension into his story, and it scared me to death! The scenes are graphic, and sends chills up your spine. And let that be a warning to the reader. There is also sexual content, so readers be ware! Although the book is not my typical genre of choice, David lured me into his violent world of thrilling suspense murder mystery. Just when I wanted to put it down for the day, I found I couldn’t. I had to read on. It is actually that good. You know when you pick up a book, and say to your self that you’re going to read the book under two weeks; really commit your self to it? Well, I was so drawn into it, that I read it in just 3 days!! I do have the time. Rarely can an author keep me intrigued enough to do that. I can go on to talk about the book further, but sorry, NO SPOILERS HERE! If you’re into fear of the boggy man and his crazy tactics to ruin your night and put fear in your eyes… then this is the book for you. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. It couldn’t get any more terrifying than this. So, in my final words, thank-you David for scaring the living daylights out of me!

what a surprised this book was. I can't praise this story and the author enough. Everything he did was to shock and stun his readings and wow, he sure did a good job. I am going to recommend this book to all my friends and family. It was recommended to me by my dear friend and I'm so glad she told me to read it. I have to admit that it really scared the life out of me and I had a few nightmares. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good scare and even if you don't. Be brave and get a thrill. This book was not anything I expected it to be. It was one of the most unexpected surprises I have read in a very long time. Just when you were sure what was going to happen, he took you in another direction. David Boiani is a new author, but what talent he has. I would have compare this book to Silence of the Lambs. So if you liked that, you will also love this. I am looking forward to more stories by David and hope he is working on a sequel right away. I want to know more about John and his life and more stories to come. If I could, I would give this book more than five stars. It's amazing!

This book was a don't put me down book. Even though you are scared and afraid to ever be in the dark again. It's full of twists and turns and unexpected events. If you are expecting this book to be like anything you've read. Forget it. Not happening. This a a must read and even though I normally don't read this genre, I can't recommend it enough.

This book was bought for me as a gift from my friend who read it. It's really different. I was amazed at all the twists and turns and how so unlike it is compared to all the other thrillers I've read. He did a great job moving the plot along and keeping you hooked on the story. He also had one surprise after another and made you feel that you needed to hide from the crazed killers. I was stunned at what is revealed and didn't see that one coming. If you like things that scare you, this book is for you. And the only thing negative I can say about it, that I didn't want it to end.

In David Boiani’s, A Thin Line, we meet Seattle detective, John Corbin who’s chased and caught murderers, rapists and pedophiles for twenty years. But now a vigilante eliminates these horrid criminals before they can be brought to justice. This suspenseful, psychological thriller is driven by a chilling and graphic narrative that questions the thin line between what is the law and what is right and just. I loved reading A Thin Line. I felt like I was reading a James Patterson thriller. In addition to John Corbin, David developed so many great characters such as his wife, Julie, and his partner/best friend, Todd, and even the local bartender, Red. His villains were dark and their actions disturbing, but that made me root for the hero and the vigilante even more. I enjoyed his unexpected plot twists. I read a lot of books with predictable plots which I find anticlimactic. But as I read A Thin Line, I repeatedly thought, “Wow, I did not see that coming.” I highly recommend this fast-paced, page turning thriller and can’t wait to read David’s collection of short stories, Dark Musings! A Thin line by David Boiani is an extremely graphic, timely paced novel about a Seattle detective named John Corbin. For twenty years Corbin has investigated, chased and caught murderers, rapists, and pedophiles. Problem is, someone is playing judge, juror and executioner before he can get his pad and pencil out. David Boiani drags us into horror, the dark side of life, and that small wish in the corner of our minds- to save the innocent, by any means out there. Believe me, as a reader you will almost reluctantly follow the blood trails,to find out how normal people can allow themselves to tightrope the line between justice and redemption.Sometimes you have to blur it.Even if only in your mind. Good story, not for the faint of heart, but worth the read.
