A wonderful and refreshingly honest behind the scenes peek into just how the entrenched "Washington Cartel" elite of self-serving politicians - on both sides of the aisle - actually so often work against the good of the American people for the gain of themselves & their special interest donor groups. Mr. Cruz's experiences working alongside these people for many years, from his early years clerking for Supreme Court justice Rehnquist to his time as Attorney General of Texas and Senator, have helped to give him a unique inside viewpoint into just what is actually wrong with our government & politicians these days - as well as helping to guide him in coming up with realistic and positive solutions. If you are constantly frustrated with the negative direction this country and its politicians seem to be going these days and are ready to hear some real, honest and encouraging answers as to how many of these problems could be fixed, then I highly recommend reading "A Time for Truth".

If anyone thinks that what is laid out in Senator Cruz book is not how Washington works, then they need to remove their rose colored glasses. We must get back to governing according to the Constitution or America will not be the Greatest Nation on earth in the next 25-30 years. Cruz may not be my top choice in the primary but he is high on my list.

If Washington insiders hate Cruz then I love him. He stands firm on principle which is non-existent in Washington.

This book is well written and thoughtful. Ted Cruz invites the reader into his world. A great chance to meet the man that's brought so much greatness to Texas. You'll find out why he stands for the right...the struggles his family endured...and the reason he's running for president. A GREAT read!

If you dare to READ THE TRUTH, then this is your book. And the jerk that wrote 'worthless trash' ....didn't actually read this book. Cruz is truthful, bold, and succinct with his narrative.

It would seem the low reviews are angry leftists who are not capable of actually reading.

What a great read. Coming from a Cuban family that had similar experiences to what his father went through, I know why he is so passionate about freedom and the USA. Freedom is a God given right. I have a lot of respect for any one that stands for his principle because at the end of the day all you have is your word. Man of character and would make a great president.

This is a man who is passionate about freedom and what it means to love America. He understands how our freedoms are being taken away, and his entire career has been about fighting for those freedoms. He is all about fighting for our rights, fighting against evil, against totalitarian control by our government. If enough people can't see that this election, you can just flush this country down the toilet....sadly.

This book is a gem. It is written with honesty and intelligence about the cesspool washington is right now and how this once great country is on its knees. Cruz openly and factually states the issues and how it can be corrected. This should be mandatory reading for any thinking American who cares about this country. For those entitlement babies who feel government is there only for their personal gratification, I suggest the audio version, reading this will be too difficult for you.

A must read. All of the 1 stars are just a bunch of hip dipy ballony, and some left wing nut jobs.

I absolutely loved this book. I honestly believe that Ted Cruz is the only man that can save our country. He is strong and if you have never seen him in a debate, check him out on youtube -- he will win you over. I believe in his truthfulness and it was only him that had the guts to take on the Washington Cartel -- he risked a lot by doing this. Old Washington Republicans hate his guts for the most part because he called them out for not doing in Washington what they told their constituents they would do. He continues to call them out every chance he gets. I have never, never gotten behind a candidate like I have this man.

“A Time for Truth” I think is a book that everyone should read. If not the whole book, then at minimum the Introduction and Chapter 10. This will be explained in the following paragraphs as to why you should read at minimum those parts of the book. The reason I suggest reading the book is because Senator Cruz gives you behind the scene look into Washington politics, both on the Democrat and Republican side. About how both parties are culpable for the current mess the United States is in. He is more harsh with the Democrats, especially the Obama Administration, but for perfectly valid reasons. But he doesn’t describe the Republican Party as made of sunshine and rainbows, either. He takes a good number of shots at his own party, and again, for perfectly valid reasons. If you’re a Republican, the introduction “Mendacity” should (hopefully) tick you off, even if you already have suspicions that what he describes with the debt ceiling fight is more of a common than uncommon occurrence in Washington politics. Everyone knows the Republican Party rolled over and gave in to the Democrat controlled Senate, and Senator Cruz explains how the Republican leadership was hoping to get away with it. If you’re a Democrat, chapter 10, “Obama’s Vacuum of Leadership” should (hopefully) tick you off, when you discover some of the policies that the Obama Administration was trying to get passed, that even Obama appointed Supreme Court Justices said were shocking, and were voted down 9-0. Policies that could easily have led to the very police state that the Democrats warn the Republicans are trying to implement. If you’re an Independent like me, the entire book (excluding the obvious growing up and early forays into the law practice) will reinforce your Independent stance, and leave you amazed and disgusted at the number of things the government tries to pull, on both sides of the political fence. And what he talks about is just a small sample from three years. Senator Cruz is a polarizing figure in politics. I think the reason is because he isn’t one of the “go along to get along” crowd. He was an antagonist from probably Day One, and still is. But the book enlightens you as to why, and even if you dislike him with the burning white-hot heat of a thousand suns, you might actually gain a little respect for what he is trying to accomplish with his sometimes provocative actions. So put aside any blind hatred or blind adulation, and read the book, or at the very least go to the library and read the Introduction and Chapter 10. While it might not change your opinion of Senator Cruz himself, it will give you a lot more insight into why he is doing the things he’s doing.

I'm doing a write-in for Cruz. He is a good God-fearing man who should be president of the United States of America. He's Pro-Gun, Pro-Life, and Pro-God.

If you are interested to know some of the ways your elected officials have behaved, this book is a must read for you. If you are disheartened by the current slippery slope American politicians have you and your country on, this book is a must read for you. All sources, and they are plentiful, are well documented and verifiable.
