Overview

Charlie Clay Refuses to forgive, but can Beverly Bates make the difference...

A young Indiana farm-boy, marries his high school girlfriend soon after graduation. Their struggles with handling financial needs begin and end when a tragedy breaks up the marriage and he loses his precious son. He overcomes a bout with alcohol then joins the Army. Later, returning from Korea, an injured hero, he turns to God for relief from the excruciating pain. Beginning a new life at Indiana University he meets a young Christian girl, Beverly Ann Bates. Casting her eyes upon him brings down her wall of protection from all men; and his decision to never marry again disappears. But his bitterness and broken-heart of the past remain a burden. Will Beverly's faith in God and love for him be enough for him to overcome the past and fulfill the Lord's command to forgive?

Normally I do not read a book quickly, but I couldn't put this one down. You get caught up in these "normal" everyday characters wondering which way they are going next and why. J.W. from Indiana
