Not just a collection of hits songs but a whole and wonderful album. One not to be missed.

Considering how radio-friendly and pop they would become in a few years, and how art-rock they were with Peter Gabriel prior to this album, Trick of the Tail strikes a near perfect balance of all Genesis worlds. Great songwriting, lyrics, imagery, vocals by Phil (not to mention his drumming as always) and instrumentation overall. Play this for anyone who thinks Genesis is just 'Invisible Touch' or 'That's All' - it will pleasantly surprise and delight.

A catchy album, filled with fabulous mixes of different songs. 'Dance on a Volcano' is a legendary concoction full of some great guitar notes. The best song on the album is 'Squonk' by far. A great rock song; a fabulous back beat, tricky lyrics, and jamming notes, it is the highlight of the album. 'Robbery Assault and Battery' is a great jazzy tune, and the album ends with a compilation of the album's highlights in 'Los Endos.' Best album since Foxtrot, and best Genesis album by far, up to that time.

MY FAVOURITES ON THIS ALBUM ARE 'MAD MAN MOON' AND 'SQUONK'. I THINK ALL THESE SONGS ARE VERY IMAGINATIVE LIKE ' TRICK OF THE TAIL' BECAUSE IT'S ABOUT STRANGE CREATURES AND GOLD CITIES WHICH I THINK IS FANTASTIC! TONY BANKS AND PHIL COLLINS ARE SOME OF THE BEST WRITERS I HAVE KNOWN.
