Despite the dramatic circumstances of their meetings, their relationship has no major catastrophes. Ryan builds an organic connection between her leads and has them overcome several obstacles on their way to a happy ending instead of outlandish twists. Readers who are familiar with Ryan's work will recognize her less dramatic style, though her relationships still have plenty of heat and heart.
