A Very Texas Christmas: A Madison, TX Story
A heartwarming Christmas romance about second chances, hidden truths, and the family we choose.

Klaus Bauer thought he'd found the perfect place to disappear. Running a small German bakery in Madison, Texas, he's content baking traditional Christmas treats and raising his eight-year-old daughter far from his past as a James Beard Award-winning chef. But when the historic German Quarter faces demolition right before Christmas, Klaus must choose between protecting his secret and saving the community he's grown to love.

The fight to preserve Madison's unique heritage brings together an unlikely family: Miss Dorothea, whose great-grandmother was part of the local Freedom Colony that shared economic ties with German settlers; Marcus, a history teacher and single father whose son becomes Klaus's daughter's best friend; Elena, a passionate preservationist from the Texas Historical Commission; and a group of determined children who form their own "Junior Historical Society."

As Klaus organizes a Christmas Heritage Festival to showcase the neighborhood's multicultural history, he's forced to use connections from his former life. When his true identity is revealed, will it destroy the peaceful life he's built, or prove that some secrets are worth sharing for the people you love?

Set against the backdrop of authentic Texas German history and the remarkable cooperation between German immigrants and African American Freedom Colonies, this Christmas story celebrates the power of community, the courage to trust again, and the magic that happens when different cultures come together.

A perfect read for fans of small-town Christmas romance, single parent love stories, and tales of preserving the past while building the future.

About the Author

Laura Finger writes steamy contemporary romance. Her Madison, TX and Houston series are set in her home state of Texas, and reflect her years of bemusement at her fellow Texans.

Before becoming a writer, Laura worked as an archivist for the Houston Public Library and Rosenberg Library Systems and later as a records manager for the Texas State Records Center.

During the day, she gives sick people shots, which is a miracle for someone who grew up terrified of needles. Still, it’s still pretty awesome. She spends her spare time very slowly running marathons and squeezing in yoga sessions. She is the exasperated and mediocre owner of a Siberian Forest Cat, Gretchen.
