The raw pain and emotion that was aced in this book comes flowing off the pages as you read it. It pulls you in to the lives of these incredible men, it was a pleasure to be apart of their lives even for a moment.

An Extremely Emotional and Heartwarming Story!!! Felice Stevens delivers an extremely emotional and heartwarming story in A Walk Through Fire. I absolutely love this story. I laughed, I cried, I got angry, and I rejoiced at the journey that Drew and Ash took on their road to happily ever after....and that road definitely wasn't smooth!! A Walk Through Fire focuses on Dr. Drew Klein and Asher Davis, and their extremely bumpy and nonstop rollercoaster ride of a story towards happiness. Dr. Drew Klein is a very sweet and loving man, who, although he has a very close knit and protective group of friends and family around him, feels very lonely and as though he is not truly in control of his life and what makes him happy. He feels as though others are usually making the decisions for him when it comes to many things in his life, esp. his love life. That is until he meets Asher "ASH" Davis, the brash, outspoken, dominant, take no mess, and extremely gorgeous attorney, who happens to represent his adversary! Although ASH comes across as fully in charge and completely in control of his life and all things around him...ASH has a secret that he has not shared with anyone, not even his one and only friend!! Drew and Ash were perfect for each other. They complimented each other and made the other whole. I love the two of them together...although I must admit that I love ASH even more. He is my kind of guy. A Walk Through Fire is a well written, emotionally charged story about family, love, fighting for what you believe in, and finding your true. If you thought this book couldn't pull on your heartstrings anymore, Drew and Ash's story is set against the backdrop of a clinic set up to help abused LGBTQ children, whose stories you also get to know throughout the course of the story. Fantastic job on this one, Felice!!

Chance to rise above your past: One of my favorite themes is friends to lovers. In reading the synopsis, this book fit the nook in my bookshelves of needing to read. Felice Stevens offers in book one of her Through Hell and Back, exactly that. Ash and Drew don't exactly meet under the best of circumstances - final divorce negotiations for Drew. But, there is that initial spark that sets the chemistry to end in their HEA. Both characters were broken in their own ways, Ash more so than Drew. Although this is a first time same sex relationship for Drew, the real journey that Ms. Stevens takes us through is Ash's. Although I can't relate to what Ash went through, I've seen in real life what circumstances that lead you to be self-consuming can do. I loved to see Ash grow from this and learn that he too is deserving of love. I loved the interaction and connection that Ash had with Stevie, one of the minor characters. Only parts that I didn't find appealing was all the male characters seemed to be pig-headed. Except for Keith whom we don't get to know very well. If you love M/M romance and a fan of the GFY storyline, I definitely recommend this novel for you. The story ends on a complete note. Although there are two more books, you could stop here and not feel like you missed out or needed completion.

This is a story that focuses on two main MC but has a lot of secondary characters that are pretty important. Asher is a lawyer that has had a tough childhood in and out of the foster system ran away at 18 and over the years developed a shell around himself that he refuses to let anyone in. Strings of one night stands, quick trips to the back room to satisfy those urges. And then you have Drew, a Doctor that everyone loves. Grew up in a loving stable home, wonderful sister the whole bit. Drew and Ash meet when Drew is getting divorced from his wife of six months. Peter, an old college friend of Ash tells Drew that Ash would be perfect for Drew’s new clinic he’s starting.  Starting on a shaky business relationship over the months Drew and Ash both let their guard down, but is it enough?  First I have to say, why did I wait so long to read this book?! Having read her début book (not related) and loved it, I should have known this would knock my socks off, and it did! Luckily, this is the first of in a series of three. I won’t wait so long next time. I loved that Ash, was still so messed up, even after all these years. No magic wand, waved over his head and he was cured, having never talked to anyone except is old mentor and a little to Peter. You wouldn’t accept him to be and he wasn’t. I liked that Drew was not intsa – GFY that you see in so many books. And it took months for this relationship to build. With lots of ups and downs, the only thing that got me was the end; really… you had to do THAT?! Really?!

Loved it! But be forewarned you will need a box of tissues as some point.
