I loved this book! I read Laurie's Ghost Hunter Novels first and wanted another series to read when I was done. I didn't know if I'd like it but went ahead and bought the first book in this series. Boy am I glad! It was very entertaining! It's packed with humor and suspense. Very good mystery! If you like paranormal/psychic mystery you'll love this series!

I picked up this book at a used book store on a whim and boy did that pay off. I instantly fell in love with the main character Abby Cooper. She is tough when she needs to be and endearing other times. Victoria Laurie, writes about Abby in such a way where you feel as though she is not just a character she is a friend. As soon as I finished the first one I ran to Barnes and Noble and picked up the rest of them. Sadly I have read them all and am now eagerly awaiting the next installment coming in June. This is excellent series and I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys a good female detective mystery with a psychic twist.

What a great read!! Abby Cooper is a fantastic character who gives us a great insight into the psychic mind. The characters are wonderful and the plot is suspenseful. I was introduced to Abby Cooper in Drop Dead Blondes and immediately bought this book and then Better Read Than Dead. They were all fantastic!! I couldn't wait till A Vision of Murder came out and enjoyed that just as much. I am now anxiously awaiting the next book due out in Septmeber.

This series is one of my all time favorites. The whole series is lovely, and the great part is that you don't have to read them in order. Her outlook on her abilities is awesome, and she takes life as it comes. Victoria Laurie did a great job of this. Not once did I get bored during this book, or want to skip through pages.

I truly enjoyed this novel. The characters were very likeable and well written. The story kept my attention from page one. The romance was set on a slow pace which is good, and the mystery was very interesting, leaving enough clues to keep you interested.

With the first (of hopefully many!) book in this intriguing Psychic Eye Mystery series, I knew it was a series destined for my keeper shelves. As indicated by the title, Abby Cooper is a psychic--yes, really--a clairvoyant. Because her job doesn't allow her to meet many men, she tries a dating service, with startling results: she thought she was hitting it off really well with Dutch, even felt comfortable enough with him to describe what she'd picked up about an abduction case on TV. Then she discovers that not only is he a cop, but he's investigating her with the assumption that she must have had something to do with the case she described to him, exactly the reason why she didn't want to talk to the police in the first place.Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye is a down-to-earth and often humorous glimpse into the life of a psychic, as well as an engrossing murder mystery. The characters are well-drawn and easy to relate to, and the story is fast-paced and hard to put down, without any of those "parts that readers skip."

Like this - first book in the series, and generally found her pretty likable. Not sure why I picked it up, honestly, because I really didn't think I'd like the psychic thing, but I found it very readable.

Abby Cooper has P.I. on her business cards and she gets a laugh out of that since she is a Psychic Intuitive not a private investigator. In fact it only takes a little to get a laugh out of her since her life is so ordinary - so vanilla-ice cream (in her words). Then things start happening around Abby, people are turning up dead and she has a date with the handsome man named Dutch who she later finds out is a police detective (Abby doesn't like the police). As Abby gets closer and closer to the truth about an apparent suicide, her life becomes in danger and her intuition is telling her things that she can't quite figure out. Add in the attraction to Dutch and their general distrust of each other and you have a very interesting book.I enjoyed the mystery and it wasn't a giveaway to figure out. I also loved the characters. Abby is quirky in a normal-kind of way and her sister is great. Dutch's character is also interesting and add in Dutch's partner Milo and Abby's handyman Dave and you have a bunch of characters that you really like and want to learn more about. I can't wait to start the second in this series.

Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye was a nice little surprise for me. It is the first book by Victoria Laurie that I've read and I will definitely read more. I am not usually into stuff involving psychics or stuff of that nature but it was a really good read. A nice cozy mystery to listen to through my work day. There was a little bit of romance between Abby and the detective Dutch Rivers which was nice but the focus remained more on the mystery which I very much enjoyed. Overall a good, easy listen. If listening on Audible: The narrator does take a bit to get used to. At first I was not sure I was going to like the narrator, the way she does voices for the character is odd to me at first but as the story goes on I began to differentiate better and like it. She is not the best narrator but she is definitely not the worst.

Loved the book. Some content could be tightened up to sharper, clearer imagery, but on the flip side the author avoids the saccharine verbal fumbling to which many "cozy mystery" writers succumb. I'll read the next one.

This is the first book from this author that I have read. I liked the book. It was different from what I have been reading lately. I thought that I would try this book. I liked the way the author wrote the book. I like that Abby is psychic. I think that being psychic is something that few people know much about. I do feel, however, that Abby and Dutch both overreacted over some things throughout the story. I will probably buy another of the Abby books though. I think that the stories are something that hasn't been overly written about, and that's a good thing

A fun, quick read with engaging character. Psychic powers included lie detection and clairvoyance and mostly hung together once concept accepted. Detoured awkwardly a few moments into too much detail on what eaten and assorted decor things; deftly avoided the dreaded info dump thing; and, despite heroine's talents people sure manage to drop dead around her. Romantic interest instead of cardboard character was one that was all over the place (I guess to add mystery or set up romantic confusion?) and not quite believable a police detective would have the "issue" that created a big hurdle for their relationship (can't be more specific without putting in a spoiler). But, very good story, story arc and pacing and not deepest mystery or grimmest. Will be reading the next book on this series.
