I know professors who have used this textbook in introductory, undergraduate abnormal psychology classes, and it's been a solid choice. The text is clearly written and presents complex research in a digestible manner. It is well organized and comprehensive. The textbook also presents good material on biological bases of mental disorders. There's a fairly strong cognitive behavioral preference, but I think this would be the case with most textbooks written by academic psychologists. The CD with case studies that goes along with the textbook also has some good examples of real people suffering from mental illness. Overall, a very good choice for undergraduates.
