Overview

The first book in the Undying Love Series, Acadia’s Law is a thrilling story on the eve of the zombie apocalypse.

Ask yourself: How would YOU survive an epidemic?

Acadia King is a young widow about to discover her inner badass when she is suddenly faced with answering this question, and in ways she could have never dreamed possible at the start of her evening. It has been two long years since the death of her husband. Caving to the pressure from her good friends to go on a blind date, Acadia’s plan for a night of simple pleasure is about to get complicated. Not only does Acadia meet a younger, impossibly hot football player named Rod, but the hotel is host to much more than a fun Casino Night. A viral epidemic that turns people into homicidal crazies has begun to sweep across the Twin Cities and the hotel bar erupts into a savage battleground. Acadia and Rod, along with Rod’s two offensive linemen and a blonde groupie, barely escape with their lives. Acadia, having no other choice, reluctantly leads the group back to her home on King Farm.

Overnight, the epidemic tears loose the thin veneer of civilization. Threatened on all sides, Acadia silently vows to protect the family and friends she has left. Her promise is put to the test immediately, but the infected are not the only battle Acadia, Rod, and the other survivors on King Farm will have to fight against. When greed, betrayal, and lawless chaos start to rule, Acadia finds out being tough is one thing, but does she have the skills and strength to be the leader their small band needs to survive? Or will it cost more than she has to give?

*Acadia’s Law is meant to entertain adult audiences.

About the Author

About Tracy Ellen... I was born in Indiana to middle-class parents, the third out of five hellions. I often used my supernatural powers to force my family members to listen to me talk and tell stories. When they laughed of their own free will, I knew the world would someday, somehow be my stage. Then I discovered writing and never looked back. I’m married and still tormenting the man I started stalking at age seventeen. Luckily, I'm speaking about the same man. We live in Minnesota and the historical town of Northfield featured in Anabel’s Adventures is just down the road a jaunt. I like writing about the values and independent spirits of people found in small town living, but definitely with a modern twist. I hope you enjoy my books! This book was action packed from the beginning.  Being a big Zombie fan, I wondered how Tracy was going to do this.  Well I do believe that she has once again has a winning series. I thoroughly ate this book up. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens to all of the characters  at King Farm.

As usual Ms. Ellen has brought great characters to life. I was drawn in immediately and kept on the edge of my seat for the entire book. I can't wait to see what Ms. Ellen has in store for us in the future installments! A definite must read for the summer.

The epitome of  a great zombie apocalypse novel (yes, I’m deciding this is a genre now).  It is hard for me to pinpoint anything that I disliked about this book! This book is told from the perspective of a strong, female lead by the name of Acadia.  She sees what is happening; has in fact been preparing for it – in a way.  She never expected that the emergency situation she was preparing for would be a zombie apocalypse!  She witnesses the beginning of it first hand, and in peculiar circumstances.  Acadia is a widow, and with some pressure from her friends, has gone out for a night at a bar with the sole intent of getting laid.  However, that “event” is overshadowed by the beginning of the spread of the disease. Acadia takes new friends she makes that evening to the ranch she and her deceased husband shared.  What follows is not only a good read, but an interesting read.  Plans are formulated and put into action as a select few of Acadia, her family, and friends prepare for what is sure to be a cataclysmic event! I loved so much about this book:  The storyline.  Our strong female lead.  Our hero who is much more than he seems on the outside.  A cast of strong supporting characters who you like, who are funny, and a few you absolutely hate.  It has everything that a good zombie book should have.  Highly recommend, 5 out of 5 stars!

Acadia's Law is the first in Tracy Ellen's new series about romance and an apocalyptic virus. Acacia King is a widow, mourning her husband for 2 years. Her best friends finally talk her into going out to meet someone. She goes to a cocktail lounge in a hotel by Mall of America. She meets Rod "Ram" Ramaldi and his friends in the lounge. Acacia picks Rod for her 'one night stand'. Rod is not all she meets. Acadia, Rod and his friends are soon in a fight for their lives from crazy, virus infected people attacking and killing in the cocktail lounge and hotel. Acacia helps fight the crazies with her gun, yes she carries a gun, and they escape the hotel. Acacia and her new friends head to her large farm outside Minneapolis/St. Paul. Acacia is not your typical widow. She had a plan for this apocalyptic time. She is not sure she has any time for romance. Rod has other ideas. The story is well written. It starts a little slow, but could not put it down. I look forward to the next book in the series. This is a book of 200 pages. I always like to know how long a book is. Barb T.

Acadia's Law is another great example of excellent storytelling with the insight and humor that we've come to love about the characters of Tracy Ellen. Acadia’s Law is definitely worth reading, you will enjoy the ride! I know I did!

I have to admit that I was skeptical before reading Acadia’s Law. I am not much into zombie books/movies. I love Tracy’s Anabel Axelrod series and was concerned that I would be disappointed with her switch to a zombie apocalypse series. Now that I have read Acadia’s Law I can tell you that it is excellent. First, Tracy continues with her easy to read writing style. Her writing style reads very naturally for me and allows me to quickly lose myself in the storyline. She intersperses the right amount of humor and romance to keep the story from becoming a macabre horror book. Acadia’s Law is riddled with unexpected twists and turns that kept me engaged in the book. I did not want to put it down. Like the Anabel Axelrod series, my main complaint is that I have to wait for the next book. Tracy…get crack’in!

Acadia is a strong character who would do anything to protect the ones she loves. She develops drastically throughout the novel in positive ways as the story progesses. I loved the humor and the mixing of multiple genres. Definitely worth the read!

I couldn't stop one I started reading. What great characters. I love the fact that it takes place in Minnesota so I'm familiar with all the locations she references in the book. Very fun read. Can't wait for the next one. Hurry Tracy.

5 stars for Acadia's Law by Tracy Ellen!  This is the first book in the Undying Love series, and it can also be read as a stand alone.  When my friend, Stephanie, from Stephanie's Book Reports asked me to review this book, I had no idea that if fell in the apocalyptic genre.  I must admit that I did not think this book would be one that I would enjoy, but boy was I wrong!  If you are a fan of the Walking Dead, then you should really enjoy this book. I loved the characters in this book!  They were all quite funny and lovable.  I found it refreshing that the author focused more on the character's relationships with one another, and less on the blood and gore.  As an added bonus, there is a love story thrown into the mix.  This is my first book by this author, but I promise that it won't be the last.  Kudos to Tracy Ellen for a job well done. *I was given a copy of this book as a gift from Stephanie's Book Reports in exchange for an honest review.5 stars for Acadia's Law by Tracy Ellen! Acadia King has been alone for two year, which is how long her husband Lawson has been dead. When her friends talk her into going out and finding a man for the night, she can’t believe that she has agreed. While at the cocktail bar, she spots a very handsome man and approaches him. Talks him into going somewhere with her. When they have to return to the bar because one of his friends has his hotel room key, all hell breaks loose. Some kind of infection has people going crazy attacking and killing others. Luckily Acadia has a gun and knows how to use it. She shoots a few infected people to get her, Rod, T-Bone, Ray Dean and Barbara out of the bar. They head back to the King Farm where Acadia will began to form a plan and get everyone on board and the end game is to stay alive. When they walk into the kitchen, everyone there can’t believe who Acadia has brought with her. With all the people already at the farm, that are cautioned to only tell family because the more people that know that King Farm is getting ready for the end, they will all die. Acadia will have most everyone behind her but Robert, Lawson’s brother has always hated her and he wants the farm. With everyone going out and getting supplies, guns & ammo and anything else they will need, it becomes a well-oiled machine with everyone doing their part. I would want to be on Acadia’s team if this were to ever happen. This is a great beginning to this new series from Tracy Ellen and I loved it. Can’t wait for more. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**

I love that Tracy Ellen is able to bring out so much in her characters. It did take me awhile to get into the story line for this book, Love the romance aspect, especially the sexual tension between Acadia & Rod. This book makes a great summer read. I'm looking forward to both another Anabel Axelrod book, and the continuation of this new series!

I liked the mature age of the main character. I usually like books longer, but I realize there was no where else to go with the storyline. From the title of the second book, I'm guessing Tryg is in for it. Hopefully the author will get more in depth with other characters. Can't say I liked it better than the Anabel Axelrid series, but I did enjoy the development of the story. Will definitely be reading the next book.

Acadia finally lets her friends convince her to let them dress her up for going out. Being that she is a widow, she is not a big fan of going out. But hen she meets a guy and decides to have a one time hook up, everything goes horrible. She meets super hot football player Rod and an infection spread through the city. What is she going to do? Will she let this guy in and survive. The story is pretty good. A zombie like infection runs through. The guy she meets is the opposite of her. I had a hard time getting into the story. I felt it took to long to figure out what was going on. A different but good story. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
