A sexy carjacker takes a would-be starlet for the ride of her life as a pulse-pounding new series from New York Times bestselling author Tracy Wolff begins.
Once the brains behind a car-boosting ring, Nic Medina has spent the last three years playing it straight. Now drag racers flock to his L.A. auto shop, Hotwired, for a shot at going head-to-head with the man himself. But when a crooked cop gives Nic a treacherous ultimatum—steal ten high-end cars or watch his nephew disappear into the system—he makes the only choice he can, one that puts the life he’s worked so hard for at risk. No sooner does Nic agree than he spots some nasty competition—and a gorgeous bystander in harm’s way.
A small-town girl with Hollywood dreams, Jordan Bass never expected to be swept up in a real-life drama. But that’s exactly what happens when she witnesses a violent crime. And when a smoldering stranger takes the wheel and practically kidnaps her in a desperate bid to keep her safe, she’s not sure whether to scream . . . or kiss him. Nic’s bad news—but the real bad guys aren’t above silencing a witness. On a collision course with danger, Jordan finds herself falling for the man whose street smarts are keeping her alive . . . and whose touch puts her in high gear.

Ok read I loved the Ethan Frost series so I tried this one. It is not starlet he "kidnaps" but a college student. This is definitely for younger readers too. OK story line, decent characters but not a series I'll continue.

Accelerate has to be one of the best books I have read this year, and considering I’m close to having read 300 books this year, that is saying something. Jordan bought a car at a police auction and needs to get the inside remodeled. Heading to a drag race with one of her friends she meets a guy who does remodels, and that’s also where she meets Nic Medina. Jordan has lived a solitary life ever since her sophomore year of college when everything went wrong. Now trying to put her life back together all she has is her car, her apartment, and her job. It’s nothing special until Nic Medina comes to steal her car, steals her with it and brings her into his world of car repair and car-jacking for a dirty cop. Nic didn’t want to bring anyone into the bad situation he has going on, but after kidnapping Jordan from work she doesn’t leave him any choice. I seriously loved this book. Everything about it was just fantastic. The writing was off the charts and the whole story was so original and fast-paced and breathtaking I honestly didn’t put this book down to even eat. There’s kidnapping, and dirty cops, and drugs, and fights, and off the charts sexiness and romance, and fast cars. I seriously couldn’t have asked for more in a story than what I got in Accelerate. Jordan’s past is dark and she deals with a lot of issues because of her past. I didn’t really know for sure what happened until later in the book, but a lot is implied and seriously messed up beyond belief. Despite all that Jordan who I thought would be a kind of weaker character because of the trauma she endured was a super strong and feisty female lead, which as totally me favorite kind. Jordan goes through a lot in this book and becomes and even stronger character in the end, which I loved. Nic Medina is a yumsicle for real. He was in prison after a dirty cop busted him, so I thought I was going to get a cold hard alpha male character. Nic Medina while totally an alpha male is honestly one of the most caring, sweet male leads I’ve ever read about. When he cares about someone he loves them hard and would give his life to protect them. He carries a lot of guilt over anything bad that happens to anyone he loves, but Jordan and his family help out a lot with that. Seriously Nic had to be one of my favorite lead characters yet. I can’t wait to read the next installment since Accelerate left on a cliffhanger. I loved this story so so much. If you are into awesome fast paced romance with a REAL story in it this is the book for you. I was so happy to not be reading just another story where the two characters just have sex all the time. Accelerate has an actual story with romance on the side.

As romance novels go, it wasn't a disappointment though it wasn't a 5-star read either. I initially appreciated an environment and characters that were somewhat new to me in this genre. Unfortunately, that environment stopped building and having influence on the story less than a quarter of the way into the book. The world fell flat and became more or less interchangeable with any modern, urban or even sci-fi environment that has some form of fast transit. The characters were intriguing, but in generic ways that are a dime a dozen. I'm not saying the characters didn't keep me reading the book, I just don't think they evolved in terribly interesting ways. The author certainly leaned on tired and possibly offensive tropes: rape victim who needs to be saved and criminal turned legit entrepreneur. Guess which is the man and which is the woman. My big gripe about this book is the cover as compared to the hero in the pages, and this is probably somewhat irrelevant to the book and largely relevant to the romance industry. No explicit mention that I noticed in the pages was ever made of the hero's ethnicity, but the descriptions of him consisted of caramel skin and dreads. I don't think it's likely this guy is white, and I think it's shameful that the publisher (and/or author, because I don't know who really had the input into that decision) put a white guy on the cover. I give the author credit for creating a character that seems to be of non-white origins in an industry that tends to create nothing but white characters, but the cover kills any sense of pride in that character as a unique and valuable human.

Loved it! It has a pinch of Fast and Furious, which I happen to really enjoy, and a lot of excellent characters! I loved the characters in this book; even the side characters, and I am really looking forward to reading about them in the next books in this series. Jordan is the female lead in this book, and she is trying to start her life anew after being through a something really horrible. Nic is the male lead, and he is the type of guy to take the weight of the world on his shoulders. Nic blames himself for some of the circumstances that happened to his siblings, so he feels like he messes everything up, so he is a bit fragile when things don't go right and he takes it really personally. Jordan goes to a drag racing place to meet up with some guy to fix her car that she just purchased at the police auction, and there across the crowd she sees Nic, and feels instant sparks. Nic is being blackmailed by a crooked cop, and Jordan gets pulled into the fray. Nic and Jordan start off a bit rocky, but it they soon begin fall one and another. So, Jordan, Nic, and Nic's friends are trying to figure out how to deal with the situation they find themselves in. The romance was really sweet, and they are adorable together. Nic is really great for Jordan, and I really liked that he is a tough guy, but really he is a beyond nice guy. Nic and Jordan have some really cute moments, and also some intense scenes with excellent chemistry. This book has heart and it has action that keeps the reader reading until the end because they don't want to put it down! I loved it, and I will definitely be reading the next books in this series, and other books by Tracy Wolff!

I've enjoyed the Tracy Wolff books I've previously read. I thought this book, Accelerate, looked interesting - the first book in a new series focused on a car shop/drag racing. The beginning of the story was fast-paced, lots of action, and immediately had me engaged in the story. I really liked the camaraderie and loyalty of Nic and his friends/family. I was actually surprised by a early plot twist, and I liked the interactions between Nic and Jordan. I wasn't wild about those interactions turning into a 2-day insta-love, or the repetitive inner monologues - especially Jordan's - she thought the same things over and over. I had to skim a bit to get back to the plot. I also felt the hints/slow reveal of the traumatic event in Jordan's past was heavy-handed and dragged out far too long. Both main characters had a lot of past baggage, and that seemed overwhelming at times. I would have liked more plot/current events and less inner reflections. More with the car shop and/or racing would be great. I enjoyed the events leading up to the climax of the action, but then there was no resolution/explanation/wrap up of the major plot line. It was all left hanging. Not exactly in a cliffhanger way, but just not addressed. Maybe to be picked up in the second book? I was let down and somewhat disappointed in the ending. Overall, I do like Tracy Wolff's writing and storytelling, and I'm likely to read on in this series. ARC provided by the publisher (Loveswept) via Netgalley.

I've read several of Tracy Wolff's books and enjoyed them all, so after seeing this one and reading the synopsis, I was really excited to be able to read Accelerate - and I have to admit, I really liked this cover. Nic Medina is the main heartthrob in this novel. He looks and comes across as a real badass, which he is, but he is an awesome guy as well. He's not had an easy life and has made some bad choices, but he takes his responsibility seriously, and sometimes carries the what seems like the weight of the world on his shoulders. One thing is for sure. He is fiercely loyal and will protect and take care of those he loves no matter the cost. Jordan Bass is trying her best to make a new life for herself 3 years after her own traumatic event. It's at a drag race that Nic Medina catches her eye, and she catches his as well. As fate would have it, one thing leads to another and she finds herself in a situation where she is up close and personal with Nic Medina.......well let's just say things begin to really get interesting. Accelerate is an exciting, action-packed, sexy, suspense filled story that is also romantic, deals with some really difficult and heartbreaking situations, and also has just the right amount of humor mixed in. I loved the characters, and there were quite a few secondary characters as well that I really liked and I look forward to seeing some of them get their own stories in future installments. I enjoyed watching Nic and Jordan's relationship develop over the course of the novel, seeing how they each played a huge role in helping to heal the other emotionally and were so in tune with each other's needs. I especially enjoyed watching Jordan come out of her shell in this area. Accelerate is a great beginning to what looks to be a promising series.

I chose this book based on the author’s name alone. And because of that, I really did not read the description. This should tell you how much I like this author. When I finally read the synopsis, I was afraid it was going to concentrate heavily on auto theft. However I was clearly wrong. Jordan is at a car race; looking for a man who can repair the upholstery in a car she just bought from an auction. Across the way she locks eyes with Nic and is instantly attracted to him. When he receives a call from his sister, telling him a cop came to his house and threatened to call CPS and have his nephew taken away. Nic is very protective of his family and friends so he rushes home. While on his way home, he is pulled over by this “dirty cop”. Nic has a history with him. He tells him he has to steal a car if he wants him to leave his nephew alone. Yes this car turns out to be Jordan’s and she does everything in her power to keep her car. So Nic basically “kidnaps” her. But of course he is not a typical abductor. He really didn’t’ want to get her involved in this situation and tries everything to keep her safe. Nic feels like he has the weight on his shoulder and has to care for anyone and everyone, including Jordan. This was a fast paced, well written drama filled story. Nic was a great character. He had a lot of depth to him. Jordan, while a little broken because of her past, found a way to let Nic in. After all, he fed her lunch after he kidnapped her so he can’t be all that bad…right. While you have a happily ever after, you still get a cliffhanger. I have read a lot of books by this author so I found this a little unusual and little disappointing. However that being said, I can’t wait for the next one to come out. I want to find out how she pulls in the other characters to develop their own love stories.

5 stars Accelerate was the perfect book for me, it had everything I love to read in my romance stories, great characters, an entertaining plot that held my attention and a great rapport between the h & H. I loved Nic and Jordan and all the crew, every one of them added to this fast pace action read. Loved the banter, the friendships and most of all I loved the attraction/connection between Nic and Jordan. These two are perfect for each other, together they were able to find happiness and unconditioned love, something they both deserved after the painful past they had suffered. I highly recommend Accelerate, looking forward to reading Burnout next in the Hotwired series.

Now this is a serious bad boy book! I couldn't have loved the characters any more than I did. This is the second series by Tracy Wolff that I've read and this promises to be just as exciting! The danger isn't just from the bad boy, Nic Medina which makes the action in this book non stop and over the top exciting!! I can't wait to read more about the characters in Nic's group as this series plays out. What a great way to start a new series!!! Please More!!!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Accelerate by Tracy Wolff is a fast-paced love story that is well-written, has a great plot-line, and wonderful characters. With a mixture of drama, angst, a painful past, mystery, suspense, guilt, a hot, sexy car thief, romance, and some steamy sex, you'll be hook from page one.

Received ARC for honest review This is the first in a new series, and frankly I excited by it. By guessing by the ending of the book this series is going to stay with the same couple. I love when series do this. I always sadden when the next book comes and it moved to another couple in the book. So story starts off a drag race, here thought it would center about racing. No it doesn't which was great. The book has whole lot excitement, and everything else you get from Tracy Wolff story!!!!

4.5 - ”Pure magic.” Stars! Hands down the best book I have read by Tracy Wolff this year. Accelerate grabbed me by the eyeballs and pulled me full throttle through its pages. Nic and Jordan are an interesting couple, and although the martyr complex Nic is nursing like a fine Scotch throughout the book got a little wearing towards the end, the author provided enough background and character development to keep it bearable. ”I get how painful the past can be. I get that it hurts and that revisiting it only makes it hurt worse…” I think the main thing that grabbed about this story is that it is set a little differently from the romances I have been reading of late, a bit of action a little adventure, and even though the bulk of it takes place over about three days a really great gradual development between Nic and Jordan. ”It’s been so long since I’ve felt safe… so long since I felt cared for… I haven’t trusted anyone in far too long.” The connection between this couple is well crafted and the outlying story that plays out around their budding relationship is different and well plotted. I have always said that Tracy Wolff can write sexy-times like no other and boy did she excel herself in this one. It is hot, but it’s also sexy, with a really sensual build up and plenty of feelings interspersed in it, there is a reason for the way it is written and I think that it was beautifully handled. I have spent my whole adult life looking for someone I can call mine-just mine. Being the first book in the authors new Hotwired series, I am interested to see where she takes us, as the list of secondary characters in Accelerate offered plenty of scope for development in the future. Burnout is listed as the next title in the series, I just hope we don’t actually have to wait until December 2016 for it, as that is it’s currently listed release date. ARC generously provided via Netgalley, and it was a pleasure to provide the above honest review.

ACCELERATE is the first installment in Tracy Wolff’s contemporary, adult Hotwired erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women of Hotwired Auto Shop. This is shop owner/drag racer Nic Medina, and college student Jordan Bass’s storyline. Told from dual first person points of view (Jordan and Nic) ACCELERATE finds our heroine having the week from hell. Her car was demolished, so she purchased a new automobile at the police auctions a few days earlier, only to walk in on someone trying to hotwire her new car. Enter Nic Medina, the sexy drag car racer as he attempts to steal her newest possession. But when Nic realizes that Jordan recognizes who he is, our hero ‘kidnaps’ Jordan setting off a string bad memories, PTSD, and horrific emotions in a woman he barely knows. Nic will soon recognize Jordan’s emotions as something from her past but it is too late when both Nic and Jordan find themselves caught between a dirty cop and doing what is right. Twenty eight year old Nic Medina is a troubled soul who had to grow up too fast following the death of his mother ten years earlier. Past decisions had resulted in time in prison, and his younger siblings destroyed by the foster care system, leaving Nic to wallow in grief and continuing guilt. When his past comes back to haunt him in the form of blackmail by a crooked cop, Nic’s only choice is to do what is asked otherwise lose his family to the foster care system-once again. Nic has to steal Jordan’s car and with it will come more threats and danger to the lives of everyone he loves. The relationship between Nic and Jordan is one of immediate attraction but Nic has a job to do in order to save his sister and her son. Jordan will be caught in the fall out of Nic’s past, and with it will come threats against her life, and the possibility of losing the man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative; a profession of love is expressed within a couple of day. Jordan’s horrific past is something that both Jordan and Nic must work through to bring their relationship to a more personal level. We are introduced to Nic’s fellow employees at Hotwired-Payton, Gabe, Sean, Ryan and Jace, as well as his drug-addicted brother Joe, their sister Lena, and his nephew Benji. Jordan’s support team represent by her best friend Vi, and her boss Doreen. The requisite evil comes in several forms including a crooked cop who is gunning to destroy Nic Medina’s life. The world building focuses on the Hotwired Auto shop-the people, the cars and the cops who want something from Nic and his friends. We learn about Nic, and Jordan’s pasts-both mired in betrayal, heartbreak, police negligence and abuse. In Nic’s case several bad decision found our hero imprisoned for close to seven years, while Jordan’s life was destroyed by the actions of college boys and the power of too much money. The storyline ends on a bit of a cliffhanger so be forewarned. I did have one concern and for those ‘cover lovers’ who like their storyline covers to match the hero/heroine inside, Nic has dreads-long, beautiful dreads-and yet, the cover shows a man with short, cropped hair-just saying !!! Someone should have ‘connected the dots’ from the cover to the character outline. ACCELERATE is a fast paced storyline with mystery, suspense, action and romance. The premise is entertaining; the characters are intelligent and colorful; the happily ever after is not unexpected but there is more trouble on the hori

LOVED!! It's no secret that I'm a huge Tracy Wolff fan. I adore the unique characters she develops and this book and new series is no different. Here we have a group of people who live and work on the right side of the law. That is until things need handling that might require some special skills. Nic Medina has a past but he served his time and now keeps it legit and runs Hotwired the most sought after car shop in LA. When he's blackmailed into resurrecting his old car-boosting ways he's determined to bring the dirty cop involved to his knees. Never did he expect to get caught not only booting her car but by the heart as well. That's exactly what happened when Jordan Bass came into his life. This one is filled with tons of excitement, sizzling hot sexy times, and a promise for some fantastic stories in the future as we get to know the crew of Hotwired. I highly recommend this one.

Reading Accelerate had me reminiscent of the FAST AND THE FURIOUS movies. Sexy cars and with sexy uber alpha males, Acclerate did bring the heat. Strapped for cash, Jordan decides to purchase a car from a the police impound auction. Nic, felon, car shop owner and street racer, is threatened by a dirty cop. He must steal a car, aka Jordan’s newly police auction purchased car, or the cop is going to frame him and his sister. Unfortunately, Jordan gets caught up in the heist and is taken along for the ride. Jordan decides to put everything on the line to help out Nic and his car shop crew. Accelerate was slow building, with a very quick climax, that left us HANGING (with a capital H) at the end. I received this ARC copy of Accelerate from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept in exchange for a honest review.
