When I heard that Dana Mason was releasing a new book I was thrilled! Already a Dana Mason fan, no one had to convince me to read Accidental Groom when it became available, I snatched it up and didn't put it down until I finished. I loved Mac and Kelley's story. It had all the makings of a perfectly spun contemporary romance and I wasn't disappointed. You'll think you know this storyline ~ guy sees girl, guy talks to girl, guy and girl get drunk, and then life-changing dominos begin to fall, but you don't know this storyline at all. Not the way Dana Mason tells it. Mac is...well, Mac is insecure. He comes off as being LA's playboy. A radio show jock who gets paid to play the part of womanizer and player, but he's tired of the game. Maybe that was why when he saw Kelley crying on a bench in front of his favorite coffee shop, something inside him changed. The problem was, this self-proclaimed single forever DJ just found himself truly enamored by a woman for the first time in his life. For the first time, he wanted to know more about this woman and he didn't even know her name. Kelley's life is slowly, well, check that, quickly, falling apart. Walking in on her best friend and now ex in bed together was the final straw of an already jammed back crappy life. All she wanted to do was finish school, get her degree, and move on with her life, but the universe wasn't having it, or was it? Was the addition of Mac to her life going to be nothing more than a little bit of fun in her stressed out world, or would he be the catalyst to putting her life back on track? Those who knew Mac said it was the former, but Kelley, who is falling for him deeply, wonders, hopes, and prays it's the latter. I loved the flirty, sexy, fast pace of Mac and Kelley's story. The secondary characters like Mike and Emily were also a bonus and I HOPE Dana plans to write their stories as well. Accidental Groom is written in first person POV split between Mac and Kelley, and also in present tense. I'm normally one who completely avoids present tense in romance because it's rarely done right and usually slips back and forth between tenses, but NOT Accidental Groom! It was flawless and I can't imagine the story being told any other way. I refuse to do spoiler reviews and this book is really hard to review without spoiling the biggest storyline arcs, but let me say this -- when you find out why Mac is the way he is, and why Kelley is the way she is, you'll quickly come to grips with how absolutely perfect they are for each other. I can also promise you, you'll be hooked from page one all the way to their happily ever after.

Accidental Groom by new to me author Dana Mason, is an emotional and sexy read. The characters are easy to get to know and their backstories are both interesting and heartrending. This is the first book from the author's Accidental Love series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone. Mackensey Thomas is a well-known radio DJ in the Sacramento area. His top-rated morning show is quite popular and he looks amazing plastered to the side of a bus. He enjoys the lifestyle his occupation provides, however, he is nothing like his radio personality. Mac has never been in a long-term romantic relationship, and playing the field has always worked for him. Kelley Kontos is a 25-year-old college student. She used to be a professional dancer earning a decent living when tragedy struck. She basically lost everything, including her self esteem. Kelley's present living situation is less than ideal, but she is a tough cookie and getting through her last year of school and saving money are her primary goals. Then she meets Mac at the local coffee shop and he becomes a priority as well. Mac and Kelley share an instant connection, and within a very short time they accidentally and drunkenly get married. They agree to address their new relationship status after Kelley's final exams. They really like each other and discover how perfect they are together. Getting married ends up being the best decision they both ever made. I liked this book. Ms. Mason pours wonderful passion into her book and as a result, her characters are compelling and full of intensity. This is a well-conceived story and the couple's sexy times are super hot. If you are in the mood for an emotional romance with a ton of heat, pick up a copy of Accidental Groom. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

One never knows what they will get, when reading a new author, but I was very pleased with this first read and look forward to reading the books that will follow in the series. The fascinating characters and an interesting plot written in a provocative narrative, make this a lovely read, which I had a difficult time putting down. Mack ( Mackensey) first lays eyes on Kelly when he sees her on a bus stop bench, crying her eyes out and talking on he cellphone. Assuring himself that she isn't in danger, when a woman approaches her, he rushes off to his job. He is a co-host of the top-rates radio show in Sacramento. The following week, when he sees her again at Starbucks, he does approach her, and they find that they have an instant chemistry. She seems to be the only person in Sacramento who does know him or his radio show. While she does reveal to him why she had been crying, she walked into the apartment she shares with her best friend, to find her best friend naked on the sofa with Kelly's boyfriend, there are other things in her past that she doesn't share, but so does he. Nevertheless, he invites her to go to Reno for Comedy Fest, which he is Mc'ing and totally out of character, she agrees. Despite both of them having a past, that would leave them to abhor alcohol, they end up drunk and married. Neither one is anxious to annul the marriage and they decide to put it temporarily on hold. Misunderstandings and interference by others almost come between them, but can they overcome their past hurts and realize that they are meant for each other?

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I found it to be really enjoyable. There was so much chemistry between Mac and Kelley. They both decide on a fun no strings weekend together but somehow they end up accidently married. Dana Mason does a really good job telling their story. It was so much fun to read. The characters were really well developed and I loved the interaction that the main characters had together but also had with side characters. I cannot wait to see who gets to be the focus of the second book. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first book by Dana Mason and I was very pleasantly surprised. This was a fun read, with serious undertones that made the story more believable and relatable. Mac sees Kelley sitting on a bench, sobbing and is immediately drawn to her, and although he does nothing further, he thinks about the girl with the green eyes all week. So much so, he goes back to the coffee shop the next week in hopes of finding her. Mac strikes up a conversation and from then on, he knows that Kelley is something special. Ms. Mason writes with such clarity that you can feel the sadness in Kelley's life and the need for Mac to protect her. The writing keeps the story flowing and the characters develop over the course of the book with such depth, that you can't help rooting for these two to make this work. Totally recommend this book.

TENSE, HOT, AND SEXY AF!!! FIVE BIG STARS! I’m a Dana Mason fan, so, needless to say, I’ve read all her books, all of which are romantic suspense. Until now. Now Mason’s ventured into straight-out sizzling-hot romance, and boy has she nailed it! Mac, a DJ, is dreamy and sexy AF, but flawed and scarred. Kelley, a dancer, is gorgeous and sweet, but damaged and haunted. Put the two together and you have both instant chemistry and profound drama. These two seem destined to be together, and not just for the sex, though that’s definitely off-the-charts intense. Mac and Kelley each have a past that’s left its mark, but, if they can just stay together and work through it all, they’re fated to heal one another. Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done. I won’t spoil it by sharing a blow-by-blow synopsis. You gotta walk into this one unprepared for all that happens. As far as the writing goes, Mason, as usual, did an excellent job fully developing her characters. The plot moves along at a comfortable pace, not slow, but also not too fast. Just perfect, I’d say, with both passion and tension in all the right places. The dialog feels real and their interactions believable. Mason’s writing is crisp and concise. No wasted words or fluff and filler. It’s deep and emotional and fun, definitely a read-through-the-night story that keeps you turning the pages and unwilling to put it down until you’re done, and then you’ll be sad to leave Mac and Kelley’s world, but happy to have experienced their story. I’m so happy Mason has forayed into romance. She’s really good at it and knows exactly what the reader wants. I highly recommend Accidental Groom!

Mackensey "Mac" Thomas is a DJ for a local radio station in Sacramento and the city's hottest playboy bachelor. Most people don't know the real Mac but because of demons from his past, he let's everyone believe he is that man. Kelley Kontos is trying to finish up her college degree at 25 yrs old. Because of demons from her past her life has taken on a new direction. When Kelley finds her boyfriend of one year cheating on her with her best friend and roommate Megan, she decides she has had enough. When Mac stops at Starbucks he sees this beautiful woman crying on a bench and is instantly intrigued. By the time he gets his coffee she is gone. Imagine his surprise when a week later he spots this mysterious female and they strike up a conversation. The chemistry between these two is instant and Mac decides to invite her to Lake Tahoe with him for the weekend which Kelley accepts. Imagine both of their surprises when they wake up in the morning and find themselves married! This was not something either of them had every planned for! After getting back to Sacramento Mac and Kelley have to decide what to do with the situation they have gotten themselves into. Both of them are not ready to give up the other but because of their demons they each are second guessing all their decisions. It will take a HUGE leap of faith for both Mac and Kelley in order for them to have their happy ending....and boy do they get a perfect one!

4.5 star review Accidental Groom by Dana Mason AUDIO REVIEW: Both Dana Mason and narrator Kelsey Navarro were new to me. This was a story that pulled me in and kept me engaged right from the start. The narration was good and certainly enhanced my enjoyment of the story. This was a sweet, romantic story that had quite a few laugh out loud moments but was also at times an emotional roller coaster. What happens when two equally damaged souls collide? They go on a weekend away and wind up married, now the big question is what happens next? Can Mac and Kelley help each other to come to terms with the tragedies in their pasts and in turn create a future together? I really liked Mac’s need to protect Kelley and it was obvious well before he acknowledged his feelings that he had fallen for Kelley. The chemistry between them is intense and feelings grow, but do they want the same things? Or will miss communication threaten Mac and Kelley’s chance to finally get the happily ever after they both deserve?

Sigh, I fell in love with Mac, sorry Kelley but he is mine... Poor Kelley is broken hearted when she finds her boyfriend in bed with her best friend Megan- hated Megan and Erik two very selfish people. Mac sees Kelley crying and even though he is supposedly a player and commitment phobe and supposedly doesn't care about girls I didn't see that he cared about Kelley from the beginning. This isn't a hearts in eyes story it deals with some heavy topics and can be heartbreaking but there are also a whole lot of smiles...Grab a copy and Enjoy! Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.

3.75 Stars. Accidental Marriage trope - who doesn't love those? Morning radio show host Makensey Thomas, has a reputation of being a playboy, leaving a trail of broken hearts in his wake. The man who has never been tempted to be attached to a woman, cannot help but be drawn to the green-eyed beauty he sees crying outside of a coffee shop. I loved his character, he was swoon-worthy majority of the time but also sweet and vulnerable. Accidental Groom is told in Dual-POV, it was perfect to be able to see how his thoughts played out and so many sides to his character. Sac State student Kelley Kontos, is probably the only single woman in Sacramento that doesn't lust after Mac from the Mimi and Mac morning show. Could help that she also doesn't have a clue to who he is, nor his publicly made past. Kelley was just one of those characters you want to reach into the book a hug. She has had so much crap thrown at her and she's still standing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, it was low-drama and flowed well for a story that took place in such a short amount of time. I enjoyed this fun and flirty read from Dana Mason, although my first from her - it most definitely won't be the last. (There is one secondary character I really hope get her own book)

Wow a time.  Honestly, I am a sucker for accidental marriages but this one didn't do it for me folks. Off the bat we are hit with this blinding insta-love attraction where our Hero invites our heroine to a comedy festival to take her mind off her recent breakup and betrayal--and because he can't stand to be away from her. Not even after an hour of meeting him, she agrees and off they go. I got to 42% before I decided to DNF this novel as the writing and dialogue were super cheesy and I felt like the relationship between our main characters Mac and Kelley was never real or felt real. Every single scene felt rushed like we were on fast forward to get to the big plot points, making each transition (if you can call them that) and scene feel not worth my time.
