About the Author

John A. Tracy (Boulder, Colorado) is Professor of Accounting, Emeritus, at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Before his 35-year tenure at Boulder, he was on the business faculty for four years at the University of California in Berkeley. Early in his career he was a staff accountant with Ernst & Young. John is the author of several books on accounting and finance, including The Fast Forward MBA in Finance, How To Read a Financial Report, and Small Business Financial Management Kit For Dummies with his son Tage Tracy. John received his BSC degree from Creighton University. He earned his MBA and PhD degrees at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He is a CPA (inactive) in Colorado.

I am currently going back to school online to receive my MBA. I needed an accounting book that could explain the accounting rules and principles clearly and in plain English, unlike my accounting book that is required for my course. This book really helped me, in order to understand the basics of accounting. My grade went from 81% to 87.74% in one month! I'm very happy with my results, because math has always been a weak subject for me in school. Thank you so much for this book!

As a student, this book is really helpful in covering basic as well as in-depth, advanced accounting information and rules.

Going into a job where I will be primary bookkeeper. Have a business degree but have only dabbled in accounting, so wanted an easy reference guide to remind me of accounting terminology/types of reports and a little refresher so I am quick to step into the role.

It comes with a lot of pictures that cant be readable with the nook reader. Some of the pictures you can double tap an dit will zoom in but most of the cases it doesnt work and its really difficult to read without zoomming in the pictures
