For every girl who has fallen in love with her best friend or a rockstar...you get both!!! This romance is believable because it involves turning a deep, long-term friendship into something more, yet it is extra dreamy because her best friend becomes a rock star -- and what girl hasn't crushed on a rock star?! The struggle with drugs that Black Jack faces adds another element of reality. Many rock stars/other celebrities have drug problems and nobody willing to step up and tell them no. They tumble down in a destructive cycle. This is where Mel comes in. Mel is drawn into Black Jack's world after their friendship had been estranged for years (due to events I won't reveal here). Mel puts her foot down out of love and both of their worlds are caught in a whirlwind! I love the pacing of this book. Every page kept me wanting more. My biggest gripe is that I don't have a Jackson Blackner!
This book really is exceptional! I love the way this book was written, because you get to see the characters, Jackson and Melanie, from childhood though time passes to adulthood. You really get to fall in love with them and see the love each of them feels for one another. Not just a lustful love but pure true love. That through that love there is hurt and heart break, but time heals all. The author does this by not adding the unnecessary fluff, so there really is not any boring parts. I loved it so much and was caught inside this book that I truly could not put it down. I have and will continue to recommend this book to all my family and friends!
Great read! Melody and Jackson meet as children. They grow up together, until heartbreak and a tragedy changes everything. Jackson is damaged and turns to drugs to hide from his past. Melody is the complete opposite, but is drawn to her friend even though his life is a disaster. I highly recommend this one!
LOVED it! Beautiful, emotional, and powerful. I couldn't put it down.
