No, this is not just another self-help book (though it is most definitely from that category of literature). Without a lot of hoopla at the beginning of this very exciting book, author and life coach Jason Harvey seemingly sits down at our side and very supportively whispers 'take charge'. He almost leaves it there - 'Maybe you ought to take a long hard look at yourself and commit to small changes every day' - but he doesn't. After a very brief introduction which amounts to a series of questions as to how motivated we are to transform our frustrated lives into achieved dreams, he separates his book into 365 pages - a page for every day of the year - and on each page he nudges us to 'set goals and stick with them, take daily action that creates a ripple effect, stay motivated, focused and balanced, feel happier everyday, and define, pursue and celebrate personal success.' Yes, he does insist we keep a notebook and set aside a small amount of time everyday to go inside our minds and our dreams and our expectations, and to keep track of where we are headed. But where Jason Harvey succeeds in technique that often eludes other life coaches is his ability to keep things simple, to make the energy come from within us rather than emulating the lives of others. Little things like expecting and accepting failures as lessons for learning, giving ourselves credits for the little changes we make as we make them, and reminding us of the day or so back a few weeks from the time of the current session that we decided to do something new - and to check and see if we have persevered in attaining that goal. And along the way he adds little quotes to start that day's introspective journey, quotes that provide a sense of humor and a sense of universality that adds to the validity of what he is coaxing us to do. Example, from a Swedish Proverb: "Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours.' This is an easy course to follow, but this reader has only read the book out of curiosity: now it is time to take it page by page and alteration by alteration and experience how it works. But the overwhelming feeling after reading through the entire book is the common sense simplicity of Jason Harvey's approach: 'By transforming your life with small steps, you can stay motivated, focused and balanced. Best of all, you will feel happier about pursuing your personal success.' It's had to top that as a reason to buy into this valuable little book. Grady Harp

365 Days to a Better You Living life to the fullest. What does this mean to you? This book explores our ability to discover and achieve our dreams. I found myself thinking of my loved ones as I read, and feeling a strong pull to share the advice with them. Do you know someone so scared of being hurt that they try to avoid all risk and remain firmly in their comfort zone? Do they completely miss out on all the beauty that life has to offer, when you know they could be and do so much more? Does this sound like you? Even if you come into this book from a good place, you must be really honest with yourself. Jason Harvey provides us with a great opportunity to take a hard look at the areas of our lives which can be improved, and set out to make every aspect better. The advice is very general, touching on everything from nutrition to organization and friendship. It’s not about achieving one specific goal, like the title might suggest. A more accurate title might have been something like “365 Days to a Better You.” The format of the book was a bit unusual for me as I am a heavy-volume reader. This book required that you only read one page per day, but I could never manage to do this. Personally, I prefer to dedicate a large chunk of time to improving things right now, instead of small bits of time over the course of a year. If you can overcome the book’s format, like I eventually did, you will find a great deal of inspiration in these pages.  If you’re familiar with The Secret, you might recognize much of the advice. However, if you loved The Secret, you know that there can never be enough reminders of practical ways to apply these strategies. It’s so easy to slip out of a heightened state of productivity and positive thinking, and back into the mundane doldrums—to let little things drag you down. It’s our natural state to worry, to hyper-focus on the negative, and to be overwhelmed by daily stress.  This book was just what I needed, at the point in time when I found it, to kick me in the pants and drag me out of my funk. It reminded me to stop dwelling on my obstacles and to feel secure in my strengths. Specifically, I found the chapters on human potential and inner power very uplifting. We really are bigger than the things that drag us down. I don’t think we can ever have enough reminders of how amazing we could be if we only dared to try.

Goal setting at its very finest! What can be said about this astounding book other then Brilliant and truly captivating. I was in search of a self – help book the other night and stumbled across “Achieve Anything In Just One Year: Be Inspired Daily to Live Your Dreams and Accomplish Your Goals.” I was a little hesitant at first to pick it up considering all the choices in the market. I read a few of the reviews and decided to pick up a copy for myself.  “A page a day!” I don’t think that is even possible. I have to admit that I cheated and read through it and then got in my car drove to the closest Target bought a note book and started to get busy writing down my goals. I was motivated, inspired, excited and ready to get to work. The quotes that act as headers is a nice touch and the information contained inside the book is captivating and thought provoking on a whole other level In short, I have become a fan of Author Jason Harvey. He is truly the coach of helping you achieve your dreams and goals throughout the course of your life. 5 Stars.

What is your best and highest goal? How would you like to achieve it within the next year? Whether you want to advance your career, start a business, write a book, increase your fitness, or achieve another important goal, Jason Harvey helps you get there in Achieve Anything in Just One Year. Jason Harvey is a Certified Life Coach, the founder of the Limitless Institute, and an international bestselling author. He has spent the past 15 years studying self-improvement and personal development techniques. Now in this book, he shares the best practices and mindsets so that you will “be inspired daily to live your dreams and accomplish your goals.” The book is divided into daily one-page reads, so it doesn’t take much time out of your busy schedule while keeping you on track for an entire year. I love the variety of inspirational quotes that start off each day. For example, Day 1 is “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase,” by Martin Luther King, Jr. Then Harvey asks, “What will your future hold?” He challenges you to let go of your baggage and move forward on an exciting journey. You get to dream about your staircase and establish what your goal is. He guides you to turn your dream into something tangible. As the days progress, you make progress, one step at a time. All these very do-able steps add up to a lot of empowerment. Another quotation I like is Day 222 by Lily Tomlin: “I always wondered why somebody didn’t do something about that. Then I realized I was somebody.” It reminds me of something that international evangelist Earl Thurner said about praying and then answering our own prayers. How often do we overlook our own power to make a difference? Harvey explains we can be a catalyst that will inspire others to join the cause and take action. Wisely, Harvey reminds us that it is not just the destination but also the journey that is valuable. Putting this insight into awareness is life-enriching. By the time you complete the book 365 days later, you will be able to look back and see how far you’ve come, how you are off the frustrating road to nowhere and are on a brilliant new path full of opportunity. I recommend picking up a copy for yourself as well as one for every member of your team. Makes a great gift for a boss, employee, friend, or family member.

I like this book! At first the cover had me a little doubtful but it grew on me after I started getting into the content of the book. "Achieve Anything in Just One Year" is a motivational compilation of daily readings and assignments to assist in achieving goals. Basically, both get you in the mindset for the day. The reading for day 39 starts off with "You are now becoming a person of action. How does that feel? It can be quite a powerful experience." The assignment for the day is "to continue to be a person of action. Don't interrupt your efforts with talk. Get back to work." Day 126 starts off with "You have already explored the fact you cannot reach success on your own. You need other people in your life." The reading continues and ends up with the assignment " Practice tact today and give your ego the day off." For the purpose of this review I didn't complete the readings/assignments but intend to because they have become a routine in my daily life. Reading and doing the assignment first thing in the morning sets me up for the day. I compliment Jason Harvey for creating a simple, step-by-step, quick paced but effective tool for us to use. Achieving goals and desires has never been easier!
