This book is number three in a series. It does tend to speed up a bit at the end. The author could have written more. I am reminded of a criticism of Tolkien, who some said should have made The Lord of the Rings longer. But the action is detailed and well thought out. I liked the story better than in book two. I guess the series will pick up where it left off in book four.

Really good, but it's part of a series and leaves you hanging.

I enjoyed every word

I really enjoyed reading this book. Excitement, Drame, and strong emotions throughout the book keep you interested even in the few areas where everyday mundane things take up pages. Strongly recommend this book to everyone. Spoiler: There still many question unanswered. I hope there is a following text.

I think this may be my favorite book of the series...at least so far! Leaving Earth behind, we are taken on a voyage of discovery through the remnants of a once-vast Empire, piecing together the history of humanity through the clues the explorers find scattered throughout the galaxies. Their spaceship, which seems to have a mind of its own, also gradually gives up its secrets. And Erin (or should I say Selereal) reveals some secrets of her own! I love the ending, which shows us so much that was hidden, inspires us with hope, brings us closure, and still manages to tease us with the promise of further adventures.

Book 3 was better than book 2. The storyline moved at a faster pace. It still spent a lot of time on minor details. Then in the last 200 pages, the story started making huge jumps in time -- many not so clear. It was almost like the author got tired of writing but still had a bunch of stuff to get in. Ending was kinda strange. Left an opening for book 4. Not too sure I would bother reading another book in this series.
