I love this book. Lee Hammond explains in an easy format. I'm a beginner painter, and my technique has improved dramatically since I started using this book. I feel like I have my own personal art instructor.
Now. Since I'm in painting class, I know that Gdrnmium Red Medium is Cadmium Red Medium. Numerous errors are in this digital version, including the same picture of an unfinished painting two pages in a row when the second time it supposed to be the finished version. Bookwise, it is fine, though the walter foster non digital acrylic landscape book is far more supplies efficient. I've been waiting to see Jack Hamm's painting book... though I suppose he wrote it before acrylics were commonplace.
All of Lee's books are wonderful, but this is my favorite. It's my favorite book out of all the hundreds of painting books I own. Great directions and step by step instructions so even a beginner can learn to paint. Lots of great projects, very clear instructions, and she explains how to use a limited palette and how to mix colors. Her other acrylic books are great too, to learn to paint landscapes, animals and people.
As with all Lee Hammond books, very easy to follow and understand. Beautiful pictures. Hammond has any type of art book you could need; drawing with pencil, color pencils, and paint.
