A very entertaining book. Moss Hart's writing was so smooth. I felt like I was with him at every moment - through every disappointment and heartbreak, then with him for his break-through into the world of theater that he dreamed about and strived so for. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will remember it fondly forever.

Still resonant generations later and one of the greatest books about the theatre ever written. I hope the upcoming stage adaptation does it justice.

I read this book when it was first published and it captured my heart. Over the years my copy of the book disappeared but the publicity about the play (which I saw in New York and which was wonderful) prompted me to buy a new copy and read it again. What a treat - beautifully written and a must read for all lovers of the theatre. It delighted me just as much the second time around and I finished the book quite sad that Moss Hart never lived to write a book about the wonderful life that would have comprised Act Two. Highly recommended.
