John and Abigail Adams and their descendants have profoundly influenced life in the United States for more than two centuries. From the great political and philosophical contributions of Founding Father and President John Adams, the roster of Adams luminaries is unprecedented: diplomat and sixth president, John Quincy Adams; pre-Civil War "Voice of Honor," Charles Francis Adams; and authors Henry and Brook Adams. The story of the Adams dynasty is as impressive and compelling as its legacy. Here it is.

"Adams an American Dynasty" is an insightful well researched and easy to read look at the early republic and the remarkable Adams family. The many generations of this family have give America two presidents, ambassadors, brilliant academics and a family devoted to the notion of public service. The narrative starts with the first Vice-President and second President of the USA John Adams and follows his many descendants and their exploits to the modern day. A great read for any one that is interested in American history.
Although I sometimes lost track of which Adams I was reading about, due to the repetitive names ( I.e. John and Charles), I enjoyed this very honest picture of these men. Like all of us, they had their talents and their admirable characteristics as well as their weaknesses. In other words, they were very human. In spite of their faults, they helped establish the greatest nation in the world. That's good to remember when I get disgusted with our current leaders.
This is a really amazing book about the legacy of the Adams political family. The details are amazing. Great book!
