Adelaide Upset by Penny Greenhorn

The tarot cards don’t read in the empath Adelaide Graves’ favor. She’s got a demon creeping into her dreams and the disappearance of her dead friend Smith to solve. But it’s starting to look like a case of murder, and someone doesn't want her poking through the past. Even with ghosts, demons, psychic powers and curses to contend with, Adelaide’s most daunting task is making Lucas Finch her boyfriend.

About the Author

Penny Greenhorn sleeps by day and writes by night. She’s like an owl, no, a superhero! She even has a secret identity, concealing herself behind a pen name. Yup, totally a superhero. Minus the powers… and spandex, she never wears spandex. She doesn't really save anyone either. Okay, maybe she’s more of an owl. Owls are cool.
Check out Penny’s work: the Empath Series, the Fiona Frost Trilogy, and her stand-alone urban fantasy, Harbinger.

Stats: 250-ish nook pages. Paranormal (not weres and vamps) mystery with a splash of romance. Loved these first 2 books! Hoping I won't have to wait too long for the 3rd. If you liked Sookie Stackhouse and Stephanie Plum, you'll love Adelaide.

I can't believe I missed the initial publication of this book because I've been looking for it since I read Adelaide, Confused. I love the blend of supernatural/kickass feminist/mystery storytelling going on here. Lucas and Stephen are my favorite male characters, but I really enjoyed Adelaide's treatment of her uninvited guest. I hope someone has chained Penny Greenhorn to her computer so shecan write the next installment soon!

I love these books. This is book two of the Adelaide series. I love that they take place in southeast Georgia and on the islands. They have everything a reader could want. It has a love story. Girl fights, boy fights. Magic, curses, and witches. Demons and ghost all rolled into a mystery solved by a spitfire empath!!! Just amazing.

Great continuation of Adelaide's story. Minor errors kept this from a five. Love Lucas! Get moving with the next one Penny!

I think this series is so fun. Adalaide is such an unusual heroine, rude and ill tempered. The first few chapters or so I was worried that this 2nd book was just a copy of the 1st one, but it really picked up. Love the various sub plots, the crimes and cover - ups with Francesca, Adalaides' budding sexuality, and the love triangle with Elaine. Can't wait for the next one!

Loved it but thought it ended too soon waiting for the next installment.

Shorter than the first book but a very interesting read.  She does a much better job of completing a story in one book while leaving a hanger for an additional .

This series just gets better! My only complaint is each book ends on a cliffhanger, and I have to wait for the next.

The thing that got everything all awkward between us was me saying, "You know she's bad for you, right?" It was a out of the blue thing as well. He kinda looked down with a little nod and left. We didn't talk for 7 months. We went to our youth ministers house for a christmas thing and Saylor wasn't there, so he started picking on me for being a year younger than him and cracking jokes and being his normal self. I don't know how to talk to him about it, because he's a great friend and I don't wanna lose him again. Ugh. I don't know what to do!!! -Abi

ABI: You should act like everything's normal. If he starts talking about her, tell him what you think. Just be honest. Then walk away. He should get the memo, and hopefully dump the girl. &#9786 JASMINE: hi, he didn't hug me (yet) but we are going on our first date tomorrow!!!!!!!! We will have frozen yogurt. Maybe he will then...i don't know. THANKS!!!!!! ~ Addie &#9788
