What does the average American do after sweating for Old Man America? He gets in the import, grinds the clutch, and makes his way home. Another day ends with booze, cigarettes, music, and literature; books for the soul; stories to maintain the sanity. He dares to dream and fantasize that tomorrow will be better. There are excerpts of another life to show the sorrow and hollowness that complete us all, the pain that brings us together, and the failures that brighten the stains on the blue-collars we must wear to make the mortgage. These are but a few of those stories, from a singular life, in an empty pint glass on the night stand waiting for the alarm to buzz.

Finally a writer that touches on what's important! The wrong doings of the cubicle farms. Kurkoski's writing makes you long for the good old days when your word was kept with a hand shake. A great read from a great poet. I'm buying a copy for all my friends.
