Chapter One

On a fall day in November our daughter, Meghan, a toddler, was the first to see a small, pink Pot Belly Pig come out of the fields behind our house. The Pig came into our backyard, and began eating apples under our apple trees.

Meghan being the first to see the pig said, "Mama, there's a piggy in the backyard!"

Mama went to look out the back window and couldn't believe what she was seeing! There was an actual pig in the backyard! A small, cute, pink, little pig, in the yard eating apples.

The first thing Mama did was call the Animal Control Officer in our town and told him there is a small pig in our backyard.

He couldn't believe it either.

The little pig ate apples for a while and than she just wandered back into the fields behind our house. She didn't have a care in the world.

When Daddy arrived home that evening, we said, "You'll never believe what was in the backyard!"

Daddy guessed a Deer, NO, a Raccoon, NO, a Skunk, NO, and we said "A PIG"!

He couldn't believe it.

It was so exciting. We see wildlife on our property all the time, but never a pig.

By the next day, in the early morning, there was the pig again, eating apples.

Meghan who started calling her 'Isabelle' would yell "Mama, piggy's back, Isabelle's back!"

We were having such fun peering out the window to see her.
