The world of advertising photography is some what like a gauntlet that has to be run in order to see it's inner workings. Problem is you can't run the gauntlet without knowing how to get in. Lou's book really gives the insight and acumen needed to get a good understanding of who the key players in the industry are and how the process works, consequently it is well worth the read if one is serious about building a solid foundation to launch their own career from.
I have been truly inspired by reading Lou Lesko's Advertising in Photography. The first few pages open up with quick hints of the profession. I feel a blast of energy when im reading that makes me want to stand up on a table, pound my fists against my chest like a monkey, and scream I am a photographer! He encourages readers to state their dream profession as if already when asked rather than their current job allowing more opportunites. A whole new level starts there and once you say im a photographer, its almost like you get a whole new flocks of ducks wanting more bread.
