Welcome to the World of Affairs ...Where the British Empire won the American Revolution thanks to the introduction of Air-ships. There is no religion. No art. No literature or culture. Only the greed of the British Empire and the Oxford Gambit; driven by scientific progress, engineering, and industrial ingenuity. The British Empire has ignited an early Industrial Revolution. But in the waning months of summer of 1811, the newly united Asian nations have begun their industrialization. The oncoming war will entangle the affairs of a General and his revolution, a Slave and his uprising, a young Sky-Captain and his youth, and an industrialist's vendetta on society. Independence. Freedom. Identity. Love. Revenge. None of this matters. For invasion is imminent.

Truly engaging! A novel that is more aptly described as a journey. It is similar to a great action movie- rich in twists and exciting combat, poor in dull moments, highly visual, and the ability to keep you on the edge of your seat in anticipation. The characters are diverse enough and the relationships are heartwarming as well as heartbreaking. Possibly the most impressive aspect is the graceful way in which all of the different story lines and perspectives are brought together and tied into one cohesive knot. By the end of the book, you are attached and find yourself excited for the next installation. I recommend this if you crave a novel that will provide you entertainment, interesting concepts, and a fascinating adventure.

I was very impressed. Good strong story line, interesting characters that you care about and lots of action. I can actually visualize this a motion picture. I look forward to the next book in the series.
