I really enjoyed this book.  It was great for a first time author.  Just quirky enough to be fun and also full of suspense.

I haven't finished reading this yet, but I've enjoyed what I have read very much. A good story with humor and interesting characters. Some violence, but a good mystery. I'll look for more books by this author.

Wasn't sure I would like this one, but as the plot and the characters developed it became more interesting. If there were a sequel I'd definitely read it.

This book was free so it was an okay read. I would have been disappointed if I had paid for it. Some humor in an otherwise mediocre story line.

This book is a different sort of mystery. It starts out like many others, poor young man flunks out of police academy and becomes a PI. Moves into the back of a store and lives in a B&B with a bunch of crazy characters and a deranged cat. After these facts the book takes off on a unique path all its own. This book was a roller coaster ride. I was prepared to hate it, just because it was first person and seemed to follow a pattern. After the first few chapters, I could not put it down and it even shocked me with whodunit. There is violence, rather insipid sex, murder, cursing and a whole bunch of whacked out people. Even the cat is nuts. After, the hero is just as cracked as the rest, so he fits right in. For readers ages 16 and up. AD

This was a pretty good book, though it would have been better if it had been parred down. There is too much detail about mundane stuff ... We're told way too many times about After going to shower and shave. He passes out so many times, it isn't credible. Also, the plot tends to wander a bit aimlessly at times. Still, it was a fairly enjoyable read. The characters are well developed and interesting. There are nice touches of humor. The mystery is complex and intriguing. I hope the author writes another. JB
