She was the girl.
The only girl.
The only girl I ever wanted.
The only girl I ever loved.
The only girl I could ever love.

And I killed it.
I destroyed it.
I threw her love away.

For nine years, I've kept the memory of her locked in the deepest corner of my heart...all the while hating myself for what I did to her.
To us.

Now, without warning, she's walked back into my life.

I'm covered in tats.
She's covered in Polo.
I write heavy metal songs.
She writes chick-lit.
My eyes are angry.
Her eyes are sad.

I still long for her with every fiber of my being.
But I have no idea if she feels the same.

I guess it's time to find out.

Meet the Author

USA Today bestselling author Katy Regnery started her writing career by enrolling in a short story class in January 2012. One year later, she signed her first contract for a winter romance entitled By Proxy.

Now exclusively self-published, Katy claims authorship of the multi-titled Blueberry Lane Series, the four-book, bestselling ~a modern fairytale~ series, the standalone novel, Playing for Love at Deep Haven and a standalone novella, Frosted.

Katy’s first modern fairytale romance, The Vixen and the Vet, was nominated for a RITA® in 2015 and won the 2015 Kindle Book Award for romance. Four of her books: The Vixen and the Vet (a modern fairytale), Never Let You Go (a modern fairytale), Falling for Fitz (The English Brothers #2) and By Proxy (Heart of Montana #1) have been #1 genre bestsellers on Amazon. Katy’s boxed set, The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4, hit the USA Today bestseller list in 2015.

Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, and two dogs create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.

Restoring Love at Bolton Castle, Enchanted Places #2

Jonquils for Jax, The Rousseaus #1 (The Blueberry Lane Series #12)

How many people have loved and then lost? Wished they said what they wanted to say? Expressed what was really in their heart? Zach has moved on from his once sheltered and quiet college life to a tattooed, guitar playing, rock star. Women are easy to come but never has one touched his heart like the one that got away. The one full of life and carefree; Violet. Tired of writing songs that aren't from the heart that he enjoyed, Zach decided to take some much needed time off. Violet has also moved on and had tried making her life a successful one as an author, leaving her poetic and carefree days behind. But the recent loss of her boyfriend and pressure to write a sequel leads Violet to a much needed getaway. Both were heading for time off from life, to reflect, to get back to what they once loved in their lives. Little did they know that not only were they going to revisit their past ambitions, but also their emotions and feelings towards each other. Is it too late to spark the love they once had? Or are the cuts too deep to heal? Katy Regnery has written another beautiful book that is simply amazing. 4 *WINK* READ Book Flirts by Jessi

After We Break (Playing for Love at Deep Haven) by Katy Regnery (Audio Edition) Narrated by : Megan Solesski 4.5 Stars Katy Regnery really knows how to write emotion into her story. This book feels enough like real life to give you that powerful connection - with the knowledge that there's going to be a happy ever after, because let's face it, at some points you gotta wonder if it's gonna be there. This is a second chance book. Not one of my favoured plot lines but it was still done well. I love how Zach just eventually laid it all out there for her, kept telling her and pretty much just hoped to hell she felt the same. I understand why Violet was hesitant to put her feelings out there again… but at one point she had basically told him how she felt (without those using those 3 little words) and then she continued to treat the situation like she hadn't. Which sorta confused me… enough that I had to go back in the book and listen to what had actually been said… to see if I had imagined it. I hadn't. Aside from that though, this story was well written and enjoyable. The Narrator Megan Solesski, did a good job. Her voice was a bit clipped at times but she was clear and easy to understand. She conveyed the emotions in the book decently, I thought. I would listen to her again. The first book I read by this author (Never Let You Go) was SO good, that in my eyes I feel she will have a hard time topping it. This book is my third of hers, and while it did not top my favourite one, I have not yet been disappointed! I will keep moving through Regnery’s backlist!
