In reading the other reviews of this book, I find it unusual that none mentioned the strong homosexual nature of the story line. The book ends on such a graphic sexual scene that it is difficult not to remember that the author has a very good grasp of homosexual affairs gone astray. As for the book, it did move at a good pace atlthough the continued presence of the young daughter seemed to be unnecessary. Reducing the ongoing presence of this character would have tightened the plot and made for better reading. All in all, I found the book an enjoyable read for the beach, and recommend it to someone not easily offended by the underlying theme of graphic sexual episodes both homosexual and heterosexual in content. Did not enjoy this book as much as 'The Disappearance'.

Too many trips to protracted histories about emotions and relationships. Good story .

From 1 to 10, where 10 is Christie, Sayers and Dickens, and 0 is Cussler, this book is a 2. Misogynistic and self-aggrandizing, the protagonist has all the charm of a worm.

Author J. F. Freedman has written quite a story. If you can handle explicit sex scenes and heavy use of profanity, you may enjoy this book. J M Lydon

Not very good research on NM. Santa Fe is only about 50 miles from Albuquerque... how did it take so long for Lone Wolf and his crew to make it to Alb from SF??

The plot itself was pretty good, as was the writing and editing and I enjoyed it. However there was a bit too much rambling around subplots off the subject which I think the author has to work on. Kat

I enjoyed reading this book, it was However, I wish that Mr Freedman had written one more chapter or at least and epilogue showing that the bad cops, Gomez and Sanchcez and the crooked ADA, Moseby were indicted for destroying evidence, and fabricating false evidence. I felt that I was left hanging, that the story was unfinished. Also, some indication that the district attorney's political career was in shreds., after the prosecution's debacle.

I was very impressed with his first novel. It was a moderately suspenseful story however, it had enough sustenance to keep me totally absorbed to the very last page. I am looking forward to indulging myself with more of his tales.
