I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series, Agents of the Undertow, and could not wait to read Mr. McDaniel's second book. It definitely didn’t disappoint and left me craving more. I hate when I can’t go on and buy the next book right away! Anyway, I’d say the best part of the author’s writing is the character development. He gives enough background information and incite into them that you can truly picture them which leads to either loving or hating them. He proves to be quite an artist with his words. This really draws you into what happens to them. All this would be worthless without a good story. I would never spoil anything for anyone but the story is well thought out and keeps the excitement and anticipation rolling. The story is also one that really gets you thinking about current and past issues such as dictatorships and slavery/racism. I think this book would be enjoyed by most anyone that enjoys a good story especially lovers of the dystopian society genre that is so popular these days. My recommendation is give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
