Leaving her family, her old name, and her old self behind, twelve-year-old Aimee has joined The Heroics: a government super hero team. Fighting villains will be difficult, but fitting in with the other heroes may end up being even harder.
The team leader is nice, but he's more like a teacher than a friend. The animal girl is not completely tame, it seems. The woman with the fiery powers apparently has a grudge against the universe. The super-fast boy lives at a different speed from everyone else.
Then there are the others: a secret agent, a lady doctor, a couple of "consultants" from a comic book company, and a Japanese robot maid who doesn't even speak English.
These are the only friends she has now; the only family.
