Married at sixteen, a mother twice by seventeen, and thrice a mother and divorced by twenty-four, Adrienne Thompson is no stranger to adversity. Not your typical teenage mother, she went on to complete her college degree and to earn her nursing license. She attributes God's faithfulness as the catalyst for her success in life. Now, having raised two children as a divorced mother, with a third fast-approaching adulthood, she is sharing a long hidden talent and passion with the world. Using the lessons that life has so expertly taught her as a guideline (betrayal, abusive relationships, self-esteem issues, witnessing the deteriorating effects of drug abuse), she has created stories that will both entertain and inspire the reader.

As I sat there on the side of Quincy's bed, the last straw flew in through the bedroom window and landed right on my camel's back. Quincy, my fiancé and the love of my life, was in the shower whistling. He was whistling like he didn't have a care in the world. He was whistling like I wasn't thirty-seven and kicking the hell out of forty. He was whistling like I wasn't unmarried and childless. Like we hadn't been engaged for five years. Five years. He was whistling like he hadn't refused to set a wedding date. Like my biological clock wasn't ticking as loud as a time bomb.
I'd been with Quincy Wright for eight years. I'd been his lover and friend. I'd bent over backwards, neglected my own needs, and done all I could do to be a good woman. I wanted a husband and I wanted children and he knew it. We'd discussed it at length. And what was his response? His black behind was in the shower whistling. That was it and whether he knew it or not, it was over. O-V-E-R

I loved this book. Could not put it down, started reading during my lunch break and kept on reading through the afternoon could have gotten in trouble. But, I couldn't but put it down... I loved all of the characters I could see the whole story unfolding very clearly. It wasn't predictable like some novels I've read. I laughed and cried the ending made me say Ooooh"
TO BRAZIL WITH LOVE As is her style, Adrienne Thompson, takes your heart on a roller coaster ride with one shocking event after the other. Ain't Nobody is a story about Alexandria Weaver and her journey of self discovery. Alex, as she's called, has been in a relationship with Quincy Wright for the past 8 years. At 37, she reaccesses where the relationship is going and decides that she's on a train to nowhereville. When she decides to take a trip to Brazil, by herself, mind you, Alex finds that there are not enough miles in the world to make her forget the wrong that has been done to her. With all of her smarts--she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Baylor University with degree in Business Management; she was a former VP for a beauty cosmetics company, rubbing elbows with Houston's elite; she is a successful novelist whose books are about to be turned into a TV mini-series--she couldn't see the far-reaching effects that a business proposition from a very unlikely source would have on her life. The business proposition set the wheels in motion, and the tone, for everything that would happen afterward. Just when you think Alex has finally come to grips with her life, another secret reveals itself. From her sister to her mother to her best friend, Alex is finding out things that are unsettling and hair-raising. It's a story as much about love and redemption as it is about forgiveness. This book was masterfully crafted. The scenes ebbed and flowed seamlessly, which are the makings of a true page-turner. Kudos, Ms. Thompson, for another dynamic read! I recomnend this book.
Great read, never know which way it will end and never a dull moment!
