About the Author

Command Sergeant Major (retired) Ray Cordell is a 28-year veteran of the United
States Army. He spent his career as an Airborne Ranger and public affairs specialist. While talking with friends who have children, Ray found many people struggling with a common issue in getting their children to feel safe and sleep in their own rooms. He recently became a father, and wrote this book for his son, Ranger. He hopes Airborne Bunny will give parents a tool they can use to help children face their fears and develop an appreciation for the men and women of the military.

Being a mother of two boys, it can be challenging to keep them feeling secure while their father is away. I purchased this book and read it to my boys before bed tonight and there was such a connection in their eyes....it warmed my heart. Their father is not in the military but travels often, and the boys immediately associated it with security. They kept asking me where is Airborne Bunny so he can rest next to my head mom? For families that do not have active military members, this book is a great introduction to understanding one of the main purposes of the military....to protect our country! I really appreciate the author embracing the education of our children!

What a great story for all to read. Ray Cordell did a wonderful job connecting with the fears children have at bedtime and having something special to make them feel brave. I recommend this to all parents and teachers!
