Wish it was longer

I had high expectations for this "book" based on the raving reviews. The moment I read on page 10 " Right, rough up the black girl while you allow the pretty white boy over there have it easy " - you lost me. I had no desire to read further. It's never a good thing when you put black against white - or any race, religion, or culture against each other - even in comedy. I deleted you from my nook and will make sure to avoid this author in the future. I had to rate 1 star because it deosn't allow zero star rating.

It was not what i expected it was better i couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read the next one. But the best part is that it had enough of an ending to make it a stand alone book. I found another favorit author.

Good storyline. Can't wait to read the next in the series.

This paranormal romance was enjoyable, even with the few editing errors that I noticed.

Although I had trouble getting into the story, once I was hooked I couldn't put it down. It's a shame that more time wasn't spent on explanations of the relationship between dragon and siren, but that could be fodder for another book.

I really enjoyed this book! The strong, fiesty, sometimes insecure female lead Harpy, is a fully fleshed out character. Her love, Jax, is just the right fit for her; strong, handsome, thoughtful - but is he her mate? I truly enjoyed reading this different take on a si- fi fantasy, shifter, romance. I hope all of the next books in this series are available for my Nook! My only complaint, well two of them, is that I wanted it to be longer and I really wished the whole series was one, larger, complete book. It doesn't have an upsetting cliffhanger, and the reader is left in a place where it creates a sub-ending that you can live with , if you want. But I really don't want to wait to read about the rest of the guys in the Lair along with their potential mates! (Only a few typos due to spell check error, I am sure.) jS

This was the 1st book I've read by this author and I'm glad to say it won't be the last. How Jax and Hildy meet is so funny. These two were so perfect for each other. In the beginning I felt so bad for Hildy and why she was looking for the pie in the first place. It was awesome to see how the Clan took to Hildy and treated her like family. Loved that this book had romance, action, funny moments and family banter. It was a great book, don't miss out.

WOW! I expected a light hearted holiday romance. I got that and so much more. I love Hildegard (Hildy) Newton. She has overcome a lot in her short life and handled adversity with aplomb until the incident with the pie. Hildy doesn’t have a family and a sweet potato pie represents family Christmas to her so when the smoking hot Ajax (Jax) Drake tries to take away her pie she is going to defend it. There is so much going on in this short tale. Besides the romance we have a prophecy and a shadowy organization (Hildy’s former employer) and a bunch of dragon and gryphon shifters looking for mates. I love that a Harpy was the good guy for a change. I am hooked and anxiously awaiting the next book. I can’t wait to see where the author takes us next.
