About the Author

I live in Northern New Mexico. My biggest influences include Stephen King, C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Frank Peretti, and Trey Parker. I write mainly fantasy, science fiction, and horror, often with a Christian slant. Some of the things I write are just for fun, like most of my free short stories, which I will continue to produce as long as these interesting, and sometimes quite messed up ideas keep popping into my head. Some things I write because I feel that they are important. I don't intend to be preachy and try not to insert messages into my writing unless I forewarn the reader that they'll be there. My main intentions with my works are to entertain the reader, make the reader think, and sometimes just to give them a good little scare. Two things seem to creep into my writing often. One is my faith. The other is my proclivity for horror, which even rears its ugly head in my Christian pieces. Check my blog for special coupons and discounts that will be available exclusively at smashwords.com. I appreciate any review, and please be honest.

My brother wrote this book and I love to read it. My sister is the one on the cover and both of us are characters in the book.

This is by far one of the best vampire books I have read in the last 35 years, bar none. This is a true horror book. This is what vampires were meant to be. Not sparkly, not love interests, not moral or humanistic. These vampires are vicious, animalistic predators. The humanity comes from the humans, just as its meant to in a good horror story. All the characters are well thought out and you're given enough background on each of them to really care about their outcome. There are characters of all ages, genders, and various cultures that add interest to the story. I've read the other vampire books by this author and while shorter they are just as good. I'm hoping the author will write more in this genre.

This was a good story overall but I do not like stories that gives the outlook from the antagonist's point of view as well as the protagonist's. That takes away a lot of the suspense for me. I have always felt that way aboutany book I read. I ended up skipping those part's of the book. Even though I would like to continue this series I probably won't because if this. I hate skipping any parts of books that I read--it's like wasting money to me. If these things don't bother you then it really is a great book! I do hope others enjoy it!
