About the Author
Ivo W Duvall is 94 years old in 2013. He has written numerous books about Alaska, where he lived from 1919 through 1946. He was a commercial fisherman and a pilot for merchant ships in Alaska. He was a Chief Quartermaster in charge of the communications and navagation department in the Navy during WWII. He made 9 trips to Murmansk Russia doing convey duty and then was transferred to the Pacific. He was a very successful businessman until retirement at the age of 88. He continues to be active in his community, writing and lecturing, and is still enjoying life! He is father to 4 grown children, and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. He and his wife have been happily married for 67 years.
