The tells the story of young girl who was born into a faily that didn't understand her disablities. Then one day she was discovered by another girl and her brother. Their goal was to help her become and stable person. But their main goal was to get her out the shed that her abuse step father and her domicle mother kept her in. I suggest that anyone who reads this book does so with a box of tissues.

A library patron returned this saying 'I loved this book!' She was very moved. Alice is a deaf girl who is kept in a barn by her abusive parents. Ellie finds Alice and secrets her away to teach her to speak, to play, to count, to help her hear and finally to transform an entire town shadowed by ignorance and cruelty. Alice is a story of inner strength, of people helping others to overcome hardships by the power of love. Moves you to tears and lifts the heart with joy!
