This isn't a joy ride down the rabbit hole. It may be written in nonsense but it’s all business. Forget chasing the white rabbit, Alice is trying to survive and not just against zombies. While she’s running for her life, the last thing she’s worried about is how she gets home as long as she can get home in one piece.. The odds are stacked against her. Are her friends enemies and who can she trust? Are the people trying to save her simply out to ensure their own goals?

Welcome to the introduction to the Alice Zombie Series. This series is a short work series of ebooks based upon the novel Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. While not simply a rewrite, the overall tone of the book attempts to adhere to the spirit in which the original work was published. The Alice Zombie Series is planned to encompass three ebooks which will then be compiled into one final ebook.
This particular series details the journey of a young, but not quite so young, Alice as she encounters a myriad of strange occurrences counter to her upbringing which challenge her ideologies. Whereas this would normally take place during a marvelous trip into fantasy land, this particular journey includes voracious zombies.
Lewis Carroll originally penned and delivered as a gift a predecessor of what would become the iconic Alice under a different title, namely, Alice’s Adventures Underground. On the timeline of Alice events, this ebook occurs prior to the revised version which was distributed to the public. Since the content for Lewis Carroll’s work is similar, great liberty was taken with this series of short works in order to differentiate between Alice underground and Alice in Wonderland.

*Parental Note*
While this ebook is based off of the Alice genre, it is not intended for adolescent readers. This ebook does not contain nudity or profanity. It does; however, relate the exploits of a teenage Alice and as such may contain discussions of mature subject matter.

Full of adventure, just incredible. I couldn't put it down. Though it was a short story, but really enjoyed reading it. I always love to read zombie books, and it's a great read. The author set the characters nicely; a well plotted, comprehensive and organized writing till the end. A great beginning of a series! Such a creative book that is thrilling and adventurous. Can't recommend enough!

I've been interested in the zombie genre for quite some time. I've read a great deal of sci-fi and zombie works of fiction and was pleasantly surprised by Alice's Zombie Adventure. The author takes a truly classic book and gives it a creative and thrilling twist. I love the suspense and twists and turns that the book captures. Just when you think you know who is friend and who is foe, the book throws you a creative curveball. I highly recommend the read. The story is well thought out and expertly delivered. I'm moving on to book two in the series!

Alice's Zombie Adventures in Under City: Downward Spiral is definitely a wild take on Carroll's classic that, while dark, still manages to maintain the original Alice in Wonderland's childlike fairy-tale tone of voice. All of your favorite characters are here, but their challenges are much different than in its predecessor. Without spoiling anything, I'll let you know that the book's ending suggests sequels, and if they should arrive, I'd be delighted to read them. Schwarz has an interesting, slightly nutty take on the classic novel, but it's written in a circus-like spirit that's appropriate for Alice. And really, who doesn't love zombies?

Fantastic book, an outstanding book to read. The adventure I tasted through this book was entertaining for me. I loved every single scene of the story. The story development with character organization left me speechless. I completed reading this story at a time. It's a adventure pack with such a thrilling plotline. I loved this great story, waiting for the next book.

Alice's Zombie Adventures in Under City: Downward Spiral (Alice's Zombie Series Book 1) by Richard Schwarz is a wonderful literary kaleidoscope of vivid imagery and beautifully conveyed imaginative detail. The story pushed my imagination into overdrive and had me turning pages with intense longing for more! I didn’t want to put it down and nearly devoured it one sitting. What a heart pounding twist on the original Alice in Wonderland! I love the zombie’s in this story and I found myself on the edge of seat throughout the book as I read. This is a very creative and talented author and I highly recommend this read!

Alice’s Zombie Adventures in Under City: Downward Spiral is everything that a reader wants; especially if they’re a fan of horror, madness, and terrors of the undead. The story is loosely based on Alice in Wonderland, but you’ll get a dose of the expected in this read where march bunnies, Cheshire cats and hybrid pig-people roam the land. No spoiler, but imagine trying to get home alive from such a place. Home. Both of the Alice’s (Alice in Wonderland, and Alice’s Adventures in Under City: Downward Spiral) have this in common as a theme. But it’s the second tale that will have you hooked for sure. Can’t wait to read more. This author has gained a new fan.

This is the first real zombie book that I have read and I hope it becomes a series, as it will keep me coming back for more. I was pleased how well the author has created the story line. The dialog is pretty good, and if you like a bit of gore. You will enjoy the story like me.

I LOVE both sci-fi and horror books and this combines both genres and is absolutely one of the best! At a high level this is Alice In Wonderland with a zombie twist and I loved it! Richard Schwarz really did a fantastic job of staying true while adapting the story to modern day zombies! Everyone I remember from Alice in Wonderland is included and the addition of zombies kept me on the edge throughout the book! I really hope there are more and this becomes a series! I could easily see this becoming a movie or tv mini-series as well!

This was quite the interesting fantasy tale that I was looking for. The author is extremely creative and obviously has a tremendously boundless imagination to pen such a fantastic story. The main character, Alice, has so many layers it is like peeling back an onion as you read forward. It is a mix of fantasy, sci-fiction, mystery, and drama. It will take your imagination on quite a wild ride and in the end, you will feel satisfied and glad that you bought this book. I can’t say enough good things about it. 5 stars!

To say this is some sort of fan-fiction or slightly updated rehash of the classic would be an insult. This is a completely re-imagined world, while still staying true to the heart of the characters in Alice in wonderland while adding in darker elements. Richard manages to blend a believable science fiction world with horror overtones. Alice's home, Second City, is filled with high-tech gadgetry, but old Victorian thinking/talking. The juxtaposing was refreshing and intriguing to read, then adding in the zombies and Under City filled with beings such as the Tea Masters, really made it special for me. The story is unique and captivating. I loved it and will keep reading this series as long as Richard writes them.

I've been searching for an attention grabbing, zombie series and I've found just the one.  Recommended by a friend, I decided to purchase Alice's Zombie Adventures in Under City: Downward Spiral.  I'm always apprehensive when authors attempt to "rework" classics. I was pleasantly surprised with this book.  Inspired by my all time favorite Alice in Wonderland, the author cleverly gives the story a suspenseful and unexpected twist.  It is interesting how the author used the classic characters but changed their personalities to fit his imaginative storyline and to make his version of Alice in Wonderland befitting for a mature audience.  This has the potential to be a great movie or television special.  Can't wait to read the next book within the developing series!

Alice’s Zombie Adventures in Under City: Downward Spiral by Richard Schwarz is a unique take on Lewis Carroll's Alice. After government testing has created a race of zombies, Alice is forced to flee to The Undercity which lies beneath the Dystopian Second City where all residence are properly educated in the ways of consumerism. The March Hare is tasked with keeping Alice safe and returning her to her family above ground while trying to pass a test of trials to become a Tea Master. This first in a series of Alice stories is intelligently written, stays true to the Alice character's peculiar ways, and contains biting satire aimed at our society and it's need to be controlled to feel alive. I can't wait to read more books in this series.

I am totally into this Alice in Wonderland rendition. I’m a huge fan of zombie novels/movies, so this premise is something I really couldn’t pass up. Shwartz’s book really does deliver. It’s not a story for kids at all; this version of Alice’s life describes her reactions to her environment (zombies) as a teenager, rather than her reaction to a fantasy environment as a little girl. I was very interested in the story the whole way through. I can’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy and see what else Shwartz has to offer.

Not the Alice in Wonderland you grew up with! I loved the new, darker perspective on Alice's journey. She's in her late teens and is a blossoming girl who is becoming interested in boys (specifically Robert Cole). She plays a flirty game of hide and seek for a kiss, but ends with a horrific discovery. Turning away in fear, she finds herself falling down the rabbit hole into a new world. She meets March Hare (who causes quite the drama between Princess of Spades and Prince of Diamonds), as well as the Cheshire cat. Zombies, antique weaponry, flirtation, and a cryptic Cheshire cat make this story a wonderful read! I love the open ending. Hopefully we'll see more!
