Conner clicked off the phone. He threw it against his pillow and looked up at the ceiling. Had he lost all self-control? Had he lost his mind? Was he really turning into a . . . a boyf--?

He'd rather not say it.

"I'm sick of sitting around like an old widow," Tia announced, slamming her coffee mug on the table. "I feel like I've been wearing a veil around ever since he left for Stanford."

Andy looked into Tia's fiery brown eyes. She was so inspiring when she got like this--all huffy and determined. When she had phoned in an emergency "venting session" at House of Java earlier that morning, Andy knew exactly what the topic of conversation would be. Angel. Or, should he say, the lack thereof.

"I've written that boy so many e-mails, his in box is probably jammed," Tia said.

"You should--"

"I've sent him care packages, prayers, kisses, and a hundred telepathic messages," Tia added. "But as far as I know, he doesn't get any of them. And regardless, it's just not the same as having him around."

I don't know if I want to get into this. Andy looked around, soaking in House of Java's early Saturday ambience. Only a couple of other tables were occupied. He recognized the bearded guy in the dark corner booth as HOJ's resident intellectual--unshaven, with frazzled, curly hair that stuck out like an Afro and skin tinted the unhealthy hue of milky coffee. A couple of tables away from him was a generation-X couple--tattooed but respectable looking--sipping at steamy drinks and chatting energetically. A shock of morning sunlight blanketed the couple so thoroughly that they both wore sunglasses to cope with it.

"You're not evenlistening, Andy!" Tia half shouted.

"Yes, I am," Andy joked. "You were saying something about Angel."

"Good guess, you dork," Tia said.

"Something about how you need his body and soul right here with you," Andy added, prodding her.

"Exactly. If I can't have him here, I at least need to hear from him. We promised that we'd keep in touch somehow--every day."

Andy's eyes glazed. Tia and her rant were slipping off into another direction.

"Hey!" Andy said suddenly. "Snap out of it! I can't handle watching my pillar of strength for the last four years go and lose her mind right when I need her most."

Tia took a sip of her coffee and fixed her eyes intensely on Andy, as if he had spoken The Truth. "You're right," she said, nodding.

She's losing it, Andy thought.

"From now on," Tia resolved out loud, "I'm going to keep Angel in a totally separate bracket from the rest of my life."

"You go, girlfriend!" Andy said. He felt obliged to egg her on whenever she got this way.

"I'll keep working hard in school," Tia said. Andy nodded in agreement. "But I'm not gonna get so caught up in work and Angel . . . that I don't live a little. I've got to play hard too."

Andy squinted at her. What was that supposed to mean?

"No, no," she said, backing away. "I mean, nothing drastic. I just want to have a little fun before my high-school days have passed me by."

Andy rested his hand on his chin. He remembered his panic attack about not getting into college, about his career as a sanitary engineer. "Not me," he said. "As of this weekend, my playing days are over."

"What are you talking about?" Tia asked.

"I'm saying it's time to deal," Andy answered. "In school and after school, weekends and weekdays, twenty-four/seven, nonstop work mode."

Tia cracked a smile. "No offense, Andy . . . but isn't it a little late for this not-so-new-year's resolution?"

"It's never too late," Andy quipped. He pointed at his coffee mug confidently. "I'm only drinking this mochaccino right here to get ready for a full day of studying."

"Is that right?" Tia prodded.

"Damn skippy," Andy said.

"What does that even mean?" Tia asked with a laugh.

"I don't know. It just came out," Andy said. "Think I could get a scholarship for coining catchy phrases?"

"Not even."

"Well, I'm not even going to that Big Mesa bash tonight," Andy said. "I'll have a little party with my books instead."

Tia exploded with laughter, almost spitting out a mouthful of coffee.

"What's so funny about that?" Andy asked. "You don't think I can study on a Saturday night?"

Tia wiped the coffee off her chin and took a deep breath. "Um . . . no," she said, still trying to hold back the laughter.

"You just watch," Andy scoffed at her, a little angry at her insensitivity. He didn't need any outside doubt to add to his own huge pile of self-doubt. If he had to sit through Tia's woe-is-me, my-Angel's-gone pity fest, she should at least support him in his pursuit of academic competence.

"I'm serious about this, Tia," Andy started up again, uncrossing his legs nervously. "I'm a new hombre. I'm even joining SADD next week. I already talked to the president. And I might do track in the spring."

"Do they need a manager?" Tia joked.

"That's not cool," Andy shot back. What was her problem?

Tia scooted back her chair. "I'm sorry, Andy," she said, reaching over the table to give him a hug. "I have the utmost faith in you. If you really put your mind to it, you could be a starting linebacker on the football team."

"No, I couldn't," Andy quipped.

"All right, you probably couldn't," Tia conceded, sitting back down. "But you can do all those other things you mentioned. Study on a Saturday night, bring up your grades, start extracurricular activities, all that stuff. But you can't just talk about it--you've got to actually do it."

"You're right," Andy agreed. He looked over at Coffeehouse Philosopher Guy, hunched over a well-worn book in the corner, reading intensely. Why couldn't he do that? He looked back at Tia with magnified intensity. If he didn't get out of this coffee pit right now and go hit the books, he might never deal with anything. And people like Tia--his best friends--would always make cute, unfunny jokes about it.

"What is that look for?" Tia asked.

Andy popped up from his seat. "I'm sorry, Tia, but it's time for the new Andy to step up to the plate." He grabbed his jacket off the back of his chair. "I have to get to work . . . right now."

SVH Senior Year is awsome especailly this book because Conner is with Elizabeth but it's too predictible it would be awsome if they switched some stuff around. Like Gina betrays Melissa and goes out with Will and Ken goes out with Elizabeth and Jessica goes out with Evan just switch the groups around and add Winston, Todd and Maria Santellii back in the group. Then add someone totally new into one of the social groups

I have been reading Sweet Valley for ten years now and Senior year is so good.I thought junior year was great and SVU even better but Senior year is the best. Conner and Liz are the best couple though Jess needs to get her act together Will is not for her, Maria and Ken are good too. But what happened to the old gang(Todd, Winston, Enid and Lila). And i still wanna know who saved Liz from that fire in 'Earthquake'.

First of all Jessica and will was a big no no from the start but I can't picture jeremy and her together anymore even if they sound perfect together.I love all the books I've read sweet valley books since 2nd grade(sweet valley kids) and i have never complained 5 years later my only comlaint is they come out so slow and I read them sooo fast!

This book was AWSOME. it sarts out kinda slow, but it open some major doors. and the ending, oh god! I can not wait to open #14. I think Will is a brat, i want Jessica to go back w\ Jermey so badly! I think will should be w\ Melissa. There was no Ken and Maria in this book. Im kina happy that things are spicing up in Tia's life, im sick of her and angel be so lovy-dovey. Anyway, the point is that this book is the BEST one in the series so far, so READ IT!

I thought the story was ok. I really think that Jessica should get rid of Will and go back to Jeremy. I never wanted her to leave Jeremy anyways. I am really glad that Liz and Connor are finally together.(they deserve to be)I really want to read more about Ken and Maria though.

I liked the title it went well with the story. I really didn't like the story to much. I don't understand why Will and Jessica couldn't stay happy together. I did like the fact that Connor and Liz are together. I just thought it would be better if Jessica and Will stayed together for awhile longer.

I have waited from the beginning for Conner and Liz to hook up. They are so perfect for each other. Jessica needs to dump Will and stick with Jeremy. My only compliant is that when I get the new book each month that I read it so fast, and I have to wait another month for the next book. Keep them coming!!!

This book is good, I must admit it, but you TOTALLY know whats going to happen. I mean, after you read the back, you just KNOW. It says stuff about Jess and Will. In my opinion, I have to say that she should of stayed with Jeremy, totally. And Jeremy should be nicer to Jessica because she did what he told her to do, ya know?

I would HIGHLY recomend this book!! It is so awesome~! When i got this book i did nothing all day but read it! It is impossible to put down. I can't believe all that Jessica has gone through. Will can be so sweet yet so mean!! He needs to think a little before he says some things~! If anyone wants a good book to read - read this book- But i would definitly recomend that you start at #1 and read up or you will be so confused!!

I hate Will, i really do. Never the less, the book was still great. But Will is soooo, Ugh! I wish Jessica had stayed with Jeremy. He needs her, and he sounds perfect to me!

Finally, Conner and Elizabeth are together. I don't know how much longer I could stand it! But Jess and Will? UMMMMMMMMMMM NO! It should be Jess and Jeremy because Will desirves Melissa and no one else. If he thinks he can decide for someone then he desperately needs Melissa! As for jess, can the girl not see that she's depresatly in love with Jereemy Ames and he's head over heels in love for her? That guy would walk through a burning building for her. Sorry if that's not the way you see things but I'm entitled to my opinion and you to yours. Ta Ta

This book was the best. I hope Jess and Will stay together, because they went through so much to be together. Jeremy gets on my nerves, because he's too perfect. I luv the fact that Conner and Liz are finally together, and I hope they stay together. They deserve it.

This was such an awesome book. Conor and Liz are so perfect. I hope they stay together. I am so glad Jessica is over Will, he is so annyoing! Jessica and Jeremy are perfect for each other!! He is soo sweet.

This book was good, but not as good as the others in this series. The Jessica and Will storyline was lame, and predictable. After reading this book, I don't want to see Jessica and Will together again, and hope that she and Jeremy get back together. I would have also liked to read more about Ken and Maria, but they are barely mentioned. The Liz and Conner storyline has gotten a lot better, and Liz and Conner fans will enjoy this book.

I loved this book! You might be wondering why I only gave it three stars then. It was because I hated what happened to Jess and Will! They SO deserve to be together. I was a little confused on one part. Wasn't it WILL who always did what Melissa said and not the other way around? I liked the other parts though. Liz and Conner are beyond cute! And Tia doing...what she did (don't wanna spoil it) just made the whole Tia and Angel thing more exciting. I thought Angel going to college and Tia's whole personification of woe act was really boring but now, I don't.

I loved this book! I think Liz and Conner really add to it! I wish Jess would just dump Will! He's so stupid and Jeremy is so much better! Can't wait for the next one!

This book was a good book to read, but I would recommend other books that are in this series. I think that the other books are more suspenseful, and exciting. Overall this book was good.

I'm so happy for conner and Liz but I'm not to sure about Will + Jess. He was like so mean to her letting melissa do all that rude totally untrue stuff. But now I sorta see he has changed
