All Else is Folly
Written in the spirit of "Shakespeare in Love" and "Amadeus", the plot "All Else is Folly" comes from the great question of the imagination ... "What If?"
Set against Hollywood in the Roaring Twenties, "All Else is Folly" tells the love story between Buster Keaton and Genevieve Midwinter. On the surface, Buster has it all, fame, fortune and talent ... but there is a void in his life .. that is, until he meets Genevieve Midwinter. Genevieve has just graduated from a French Convent school and knows nothing of the world. The only thing she does know is that Buster Keaton, whom she has only seen on the movie screen, is her soul mate.
Through a twist of fate, Genevieve and Buster do meet and fall in love and their story is woven through the biographical facts of Buster Keaton's life. A gifted actor and visionary auteur, Buster was also a kind and generous person who also had his share of disappointments and heartache. Through it all, Genevieve is there for Buster always although she does mature from an adoring girl to a woman who realizes that life is not a fairy tale ... at least not the "Happily Ever After" part.
