A killer rises...
Determined to start over, Lucy Kendall moves to Washington, D.C., and takes a position with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
But the past doesn't want to let her go.
When a police officer walks into her office and tells her the unthinkable, she knows she has to go back. But it's too late. The gauntlet has been dropped, and Lucy has no choice but to play a sadistic killer's game.
Unable to trust anyone, Lucy scrambles to find the truth. But time runs out, and she must do the one thing she swore she'd never do: tell the truth about the people she's killed.
Will Lucy's ultimate sacrifice be enough?

Well written about the dregs of society and the evil that lives among us. Just read the paper and listen to the news. Ma Green captures it all. CB
I was so nervous going into this story and rightly so. We all know by now who Lucy is and what she's done. The question is which fork in the road will she take...the dark side or towards the light. I'm not going to recap the story or share any part of it. This is a gem you need to discover all on your own without any hints about the storyline. The writing is brilliant (as usual), the characterizations well developed and the tensions in the stratosphere. I've loved this unconventional series and have had a love/hate relationship with Lucy Kendall. My feelings about her settled with this story and I still am reeling from all the twists, surprises and disclosures. Well done...really well done. Outstanding!
