About the Author

Rucy Ban was born in 1978 and still continues to thrive. Ever since she first met Francine (the protagonist of her favorite novel, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn), Rucy fell in love with the written word. Rucy has a B-school degree in Marketing which she now puts to good use teaching lovable rowdy rogues and negotiating with her equally belligerent adolescent. In her previous avatar, she handled corporate communications for companies. At present, Rucy lives in Sao Paulo, travels often, speaks decent, if not quite fluent, Portuguese and really hates talking about herself in third person.

So I have to admit I was drawn in by the racy cover, I thought  was in for a smutty good time. While Ms. Ban kept everything pg-13 was able to keep me interested with a great story. All My Life was a complete surprise, part of it was because I was expecting one thing and received another. The casts: Kari is smart and so enjoyable. She actually feels like a real girl with real life issues. After something devastating happens to her she tries to keep a low profile, which is almost expected. Me personally I probably would have curled into a ball and die. Neil Mars is a breathe of fresh air. He is actually what Kari needs. When he originally came along for some reason I thought he was going to be the atypical broken bad boy, but he anything but that. Granted he has somethings going on in his world, but he’s functionable. The Story: As soon as I read prologue I knew All My Life was going to have some drama. Kari finds herself falling for Eddie Jameson he’s cute, desirable, and says all the right things to make even her mother to fall in love. Next thing you know he shows his true colors spinning Kari’s life into a different direction. I absolutely hated him after that. Kari now has a caution way of life only giving her time to school, but due to some intimidation by a prick she now has to look for work. Fortunately she lands a job at a tattoo parlor, where she meets two of the coolest people ever. Nalini and Agnas are the best. Almost instantly Kari and Nalini become very close, while Agnas kinda fades into the background. I think it was more so it was to give Kari a chance to shine The day Kari notices Neil her world started to come together. Witnessing him kiss another woman in the middle of the street didn’t seem ideal, but I was able to get over that mishap easily.  Neil has a secret of his own that he doesn’t share with Kari, but his wasn’t so bad. Not to mention it gave their relationship a chance to grow into something wonderful.  Ms.Ban has created something wonderful with her debut novel. All My Life flowed very well for me. Unquestionably I would recommend anyone who love people who’ve lost their way only to take the scenic route to find themselves. **I want to thank the author/ publisher for providing me with an arc copy via Xpresso book tours in exchange for my honest opinion** For more reviews find me at shawnasurvey at blogspt dot com

I really enjoyed this book ... up until the end! Its about 150 pages and she spent 140 of those pages building up the story then rushed the ending in less than 10 pages ... It does have a happy ever after ending though so at least theres that ...
