All That Matters in the End by Phoenix Brown

Malik Thomas's life is on the path to happiness. His divorce to his ex-wife, Rebecca is final which has freed him up to marry the woman of his dreams, Alexis. He's determined to not repeat the same mistakes but the harder he tries to run away, the tighter his past holds onto him. He's trying to juggle an ex-wife, a one-year-old child, multiple businesses and a fiancée. He's bound to drop the ball on one of them.

Rebecca Thomas is struggling with her new role as a divorced, single mother. Despite the drama that her ex-husband, Malik, brought to her life she still misses him. While trying to navigate the muddy waters of co-parenting, she struggles with nursing her broken heart. Did she make the right decision in letting him go?

Alexis loves Malik, but the baggage that comes with him is heavy. Her desire to be his wife is the only thing that outweighs her hatred for his ex-wife. Alexis is determined to protect the man she had to rebuild from being destroyed by the woman who broke him... and she's willing to do it by any means necessary.

What do you do when you have to choose between your future and letting go of your past?

Wow. The passion and drive that these characters have is nothing short of remarkable. Mrs Brown has penned a work of art here that will keep you turning pages long after you've said, "I'll stop here." All That Matters In The End is a story about love and the complications that come with it. Malik finds himself torn between two women, one from the past who has his child as well as his heart and another who he's engaged to presently. The drama REALLY unfolds when his ex falls for someone with their own baggage and his fiancee finds that someone else has fallen for her! Oh what a tangled web, indeed!! With an unexpected ending that answers so many questions, this book definitely leaves a reader waiting to find more work by this fantastic author.

If you don't buy this author's work you are missing out on some great writing. I read all three books rom this author in a day and a half. All that matters in the end picks up immediately from Beautifully Imperfect. The thing I liked the most is that unlike most sequels (where you have to read all of the books to know what is going on) this sequel works as a stand alone book too. Phoenix provides us with enough detail of the past to understand what is happening in the novel but doesn't bore you with references tot he past every other chapter. I was impressed by the twists and turns in this book and every time i thought I knew what was going to happen, something else happened and threw me for a loop. Fantastic story! I said it before in my last review and I"m going to say it again. Phoenix is going to be that next great author. I could tell that Beautifully Imperfect was her first novel but the growth that she shows in the other two books by here was tremendous. I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us. It's rare for me to take the time to write reviews but if this helps one person take the chance to discover a great author, I don't mind. Beautifully Imperfect, All that matters in the end and Damaged Goods were awesome reads. Kudos to you Phoenix Brown.
