All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover, Madeleine Maby

The #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends with Us-whose writing is "emotionally wrenching and utterly original" (Sarah Shepard, New York Times bestselling author of the Pretty Little Liars series)-delivers a tour de force novel about a troubled marriage and the one old forgotten promise that might be able to save it.

Quinn and Graham's perfect love is threatened by their imperfect marriage. The memories, mistakes, and secrets that they have built up over the years are now tearing them apart. The one thing that could save them might also be the very thing that pushes their marriage beyond the point of repair.

All Your Perfects is a profound novel about a damaged couple whose potential future hinges on promises made in the past. This is a heartbreaking page-turner that asks: Can a resounding love with a perfect beginning survive a lifetime between two imperfect people?

Once again she's done it. Made me feel like it was happening to a friend, cried ugly. Was mad at the female character. I felt like she was self centered and selfish but Love and patience conquer it all. Awesome awesome book.

4.25 stars--ALL YOUR PERFECTS by Colleen Hoover is a stand alone story focusing on Quinn Whitley and Graham Wells. Told from first person perspective (Quinn) alternating between the present and the past ALL YOUR PERFECTS focuses the building relationship between Quinn and Graham, and the breakdown of their marriage following ten years of romance, love, struggle and loss. Quinn Whitley and Graham Wells met under unfortunate but auspicious circumstances, circumstances that would have otherwise resulted in heartbreak, pain, humiliation and hurt. Six months later, Quinn and Graham would reconnect on their road to marriage and a happily ever after, but happily ever afters are only for fairy tales as our couple struggle with what was, and what will never be. ALL YOUR PERFECTS is an emotional, impassioned and realistic look at one couple as they struggle with hope and heartache, promises and impossibilities. Colleen Hoover’s ALL YOUR PERFECTS is not a story about the idealized view of romance reality but of true reality, itself. The characters are flawed and imperfect; the relationship endures too many heartbreaks, and unrealized expectations. ALL YOUR PERFECTS is a raw and thought-provoking story of second chances that will break your heart, and shatter your soul. Not an easy read ALL YOUR PERFECT is likely to cause a tear or ten, tears that will remain in your heart for a long time, thereafter. ‘If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.’

All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover 5 Perfect Stars Available July 17, 2018 Best Read of 2018 Quinn and Graham have the "perfect" marriage, well at least that what everyone else likes to think. This story starts with this "perfect" couple battling one of the most hated words for any couple trying to start a family - infertility. Quinn is at a point at the beginning where she has lost the fight in her to communicate with her husband with her feelings. You get a real raw glimpse of a couple whose marriage is falling apart, even though they haven't fallen out of love with each other. This book will stay with me for a long time - I just know it. This story left me speechless for a while, and I am still trying to wrap my head around what I just read and how I feel about it. It's one thing to be totally engrossed and feels like you are a part of the story, and it is another thing to feel like you've lived this story already. A few times while reading I swore Colleen had taken my husband and I's real-life grief and stuck it within these pages. I just need a second to applaud Colleen for being able to write this book, and perfectly capture the struggle of emotions while battling infertility with the anger, the resentment, the grief, and finally the acceptance to create this story of Graham and Quinn. I really enjoyed this book - I laughed, I cried, and I felt like I related and understood the characters. Thank you, Colleen, for giving us Graham and Quinn, and shining a light on the battle that so many couples face. This story hit very close to home for me, and I think Colleen did a fantastic job portraying her characters and bringing them to life within the story. I am a huge fan of character development - Graham and Quinn transformed so much from the first page to the last. Their story held my attention through the whole book and didn't have any "stalling" moments. This book has joined the shelf of my all-time favourite reads. I highly recommend this story to EVERYONE.

IF YOU ONLY SHINE LIGHT ON YOUR FLAWS, ALL YOUR PERFECTS WILL DIM. Quinn and Graham meet in the most unusual occasion. The story is divided into two timelines. One is when they met and how they fell in love. The other one is about what is happening now. They are having a crisis in their marriage. I connected with Quinn immediately. I also struggled with having kids for a while. And I couldn't even talk about children or look at them anymore. They were a reminder of what I was missing. Ans my mom is like Quinn's mom. Well, without the money. I'm lucky like that... I liked their story a lot. It helped me to remember that we must not waste our time thinking about the life we wished we'd have. We need to focus on the life we do have. And we grateful. Always. Colleen Hoover is one of the best writers in this moment. Her books will make you think. And her stories are very real so it's easy to connect with one character or the other.

I had to read the epilogue half way through the book because I was so emotional about what was happening. A very real problem for so many couples. Beautifully written

Colleen Hoover is a hit or miss with me. This one was a hit; an emotional, hard-hitting hit. I felt like I was truly inside Quinn's head, vicariously living through her joys and her struggles. Her feelings of despair, hopelessness, and betrayal. All Your Perfects is a tough read, but I think CoHo pulled it off.

I've read a few of Colleen Hoover's books back in college but I have yet to pick up one of her newer ones. I've enjoyed them but I have to be honest, many of her books are what I would consider emotional porn. They're made to bring you intense emotions and I swear they're made to make you cry. Going into this book I only knew the bare minimum about this book. I saw a few quotes here and there and I knew that it was about a failing marriage. What I did know is that I wanted to finally pick up another Colleen Hoover book. When I saw this book on Netgalley as a "wish" I knew I needed to click that button. I was lucky enough to be approved for this book. I have to admit, I struggled with this book. I struggled with some of the actions of characters and honestly the characters themselves. I never truly felt connect with the characters. Now, Graham & Quinn were wonderful characters that were flawed and realistic, but I couldn't connect with them. Their story was tragic and beautiful at times and I can see why so many people have grabbed onto their story. Unfortunately, I just couldn't connect how I normally do. As expected with any Colleen Hoover novel, it is well written. You are going to feel emotions and you're going to feel them very deeply. Colleen Hoover does emotions well, I may not have felt connected to the characters but I did feel emotions and even tear up a bit at moments. All in all, it was a good book & well written.

Brilliant! Of course I really shouldn't even be surprised at this point. It's a COHO story. A potent story beautifully told. What a magnificent way to shine light on this topic. I loved every page. Every word. Every minute spent reading this was a minute well spent. The thing about hopes, dreams, plans or goals is that we set them at point A (the beginning) of our lives but who is to say that when we get to point B we can't change our mind or our journey gets rerouted. At the end of the road it's happiness we want to find. This story showed me that love matters but in a marriage it's not the only thing that's needed. Don't avoid a topic. Don't avoid a hard conversation that needs to be had. In any relationship there will be 2 sides of a story even if we can only see one from our vision point. I loved it! This is what I took from this read- ❤ Let's shine light in all our perfects ❤

“If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.” Genre: Adult Romance. Number of Pages: 308. Perspective: First. This is a story about a married couple who is falling apart after many years of infertility and unspoken words. They have to decide if their perfect beginning can help them get back to a perfect ending. I'll be completely honest, when I started reading this book, I thought it felt familiar. I thought it would be like a lot of other books I have read (for some reason I was getting a What Alice Forgot vibe at first). I also always doubt Colleen Hoover. In my mind, I always think it’s impossible for an author with such die-hard fans to actually be good. But, oh my God, I eat up every single one of her books, including this one. She always proves me wrong. What I loved most about this book is that it felt real to me. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been married for a while now, so I am getting bored of reading love-at-first-sight novels. It is refreshing to read about people who have been married for about the same amount of time I have. And, perhaps, that is why I sat in bed ugly crying while reading this book. [Pro tip: don't read this book in public]. Read more here:

Raw, gut-wrenching, hopeful, captivating, beautiful. Quinn and Graham drew me into their journey. From the incredibly awkward way they initially meet, they find a way to handle one of the most horrible days of both of their lives with dignity and pride. To their actual first date where I felt like these two people were supposed to meet. They have a natural connection that allows them to be themselves and it seemed like this was the first time that either of them had found that in a relationship. The joy they find together leads to a beautiful marriage which becomes a journey of true love that must weather the storms to see how firm a foundation their marriage truly has. I am in awe of Quinn as she faces one of the toughest issues for a woman, the inability to get pregnant. Of course, over time this causes a strain on their marriage even as their love for each other doesn’t waver. But is love enough? There is an honesty to this journey that kept me enthralled and hoping that love will win in the end.

I have a huge love/hate relationship with CoHo's books and this book is the perfect example of why. All Your Perfects is a beautiful story that was completely unexpected. There's not a lot that can be said about this book that wouldn't completely spoil it. It will make you laugh and it will definitely make you cry but more than anything, it will make you believe that even in the worst of times, happiness can be found. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!!

❝If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.❞ All Your Perfects is a beautiful, tragic and passionate love story about two flawed people who fate brought together at the perfect time. Tho they may not be perfect individually, together they learn to accept each other's imperfections and start appreciating all the perfect things within their marriage, thereby, arming themselves with the tools necessary to weather category 5 storms! Upon finishing All Your Perfects I immediately wanted to read it again. I don't remember a time when I've ever had that feeling. The story is beautiful in its devastation and truth. What I love so much about this story was its honest view of marriage. It is about a married couple who face tough times and how they come out in the end. Starting from first sight, Hoover takes us on the journey of a couple as they meet, date and marry. But unlike most books I've read, this book is about the marriage. It's about the struggles married couples go through and the real way in which they deal with them. Marriage is hard work, and sometimes it doesn't work and that's okay. But when it does, it isn't by chance. It doesn't work by love alone, although that is the foundation, it is with grit and faith and perseverance. I loved this quote from an interview Quinn did for a school article of a couple who'd been married for sixty years, "What's the secret to such a perfect marriage?" ❝No marriage is perfect. There were times when she gave up on us. There were even more times when I gave up on us. The secret to our longevity is that we never gave up at the same time.❞ Graham was like David, his love was like the rock and their marriage problems were like Goliath. His love was unshakable. Graham lived for loving Quinn. He lived for making her happy. He loved her dreams, both awake and asleep. His love for her made her miss him when he was gone. Quinn's self-doubt and devastation broke my heart. Her pain was honest and transparent and I love that Hoover didn't hold back on her inner dialogue. Her thoughts and feelings were brilliantly laid out on each page. ❝I'm sick of being looked at this way, of not knowing how to answer his questions. I'm no longer on the same wavelength as my husband. I don't know how to communicate with him anymore. Sometimes when I open my mouth, it feels like the wind blows all my words straight back down my throat.❞ ❝I miss the days when I needed to tell him everything or I would burst. And I miss the days when he would feel like time cheated us during the hours we had to sleep.❞ The past and present telling built the intensity of the story and the relationship of Quinn and Graham. It lent to the passion and emotionality of this devastating and painful story! My heart ached and I sobbed! The wisdom within its pages was astounding. These were things you hear from a counselor or life coach! And the BOX, omg! Where did she come up with that? It is truly brilliant! Once the full meaning was revealed, I bawled! Quinn and Graham's love was raw, emotional, brutal, and at times devastating. With All Your Perfects we are reminded that it's easy to point out and focus on flaws in ourselves and others. But it's much more difficult to be present in and appreciate the times when things are good and shine brilliantly. This is my favorite read of the year so far and my top favorite from Mrs. Hoover! (It's going to be hard to beat this one!)

My thanks to Netgalley, Simon and Schuster Canada, Atria Books, and Colleen Hoover for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and independent of receiving an advanced copy. So I was not the biggest Colleen Hoover fan. I did not enjoy “It Ends With Us” (please feel free to check out my review) even though it received a high rating. Most people I had talked to were huge fans of Hoover’s writing. I recently had a discussion with my sister-in-law about Hoover and she, also a big fan, said oh check out “it Ends With Us’ and you will change your mind! I had to tell her that I gave it 2 stars. So I wasn’t holding out much hope for “All You Perfects”. I kept an open mind because I hadn’t read enough of her books to really decide if I like her writing style or not. So glad I did. “All You Perfects” is about a couple and their marriage. It alternates chapters between the past and the present so you can understand where they started and how they got to the point where they felt like they were breaking. Quinn and Graham meet in a hallway, in front of an apartment where their significant others are having an affair. Imagine coming home after a trip, excited to see your fiancé, finding this guy outside the apartment, telling you his girlfriend is inside screwing your fiancé. Do you open the door? Eventually. Do you eat their Chinese food they got delivered - definitely! Do you have revenge sex with the hot guy who was also a victim? They don’t, surprisingly. But a bond was formed, an extra spark was lit and they do the right thing and wait because what if they could have something special - blah blah blah. They do get together and they are insanely attracted to each other. Their love is true until they start having infertility issues. Years of wanting a baby and not being able to conceive wears away at their relationship. It begins by not wanting to talk about it because you don’t want to hurt the other person and ends up that you just don’t talk. You have grown so far apart from each other you don’t know if there is any way forward, or any way back to the other person. This novel was a slow burn for me. You get to fall in love with Quinn and Graham while they fall in love with each other. Every marriage has issues and distance is often a result so I found their issues universal rather than situational. It was a 3 star, marching along, I though oh good beach read, nice chick lit, but nothing grabbed me. UNTIL. THE. LETTERS. I don’t want to go into too much detail because I don’t want to reveal any spoilers but it was a game changer for me. I was enjoying it much more than “It Ends With Us” but once it hit that spot, I just was moved. My heart melted and I might have cried a little, well okay I cried. I wasn’t expecting it to have the depth and heartfelt-ness that it did based on the first part of the book. Up to that point, the writing was good, the characters were well drawn but the writing during those letters changed everything for me. It went up to 4 stars for sure for me. I loved the resolution and the ending. It was real. A beautiful story that illustrates a real marriage, the love and the challenges, what it takes to stay in it and whether it is time to walk away. It reminds you that so much of life is in your hands and how you choose to look at things can shape your reality. Reframing things can be powerful if you choose to be grateful for the blessings you have instead of focusing on what you don

Beautiful book, well-paced, inside view into someone else's relationship and marriage. This book goes between 7 years ago and present.  Seven years ago, Graham and Quinn met, started dating, fell in love and got married.  Present day is seven years later and they are having fertility issues that is driving them apart.  I love books that give you an inside look into someone else's relationship or marriage because I do think we all have a story to tell and I also think it's interesting to see what makes other people's marriages tick.  I felt myself getting caught up in their relationship and hoping they would work things out.  I actually got tears in my eyes when they wrote letters to each other...I don't want to say anymore because I don't want to give too much away! I recommend this book to fans of romance, women's fiction and domestic dramas.  If someone is struggling with fertility issues, I think this book may be a good fit to see how another couple deals with things.
